Internal Geneva Mechanism
- AIM:- SIMULATION OF INTERNAL GENEVA MECHANISM ON SOLIDWORKS
- INTRODUCTION:- Here, to simulate the geneva mechanism on solidworks firstly we will make driver and driven of geneva mechanism and after it we will assemble it and then study the motion whole mechanism and try to find out the contact force between then during motion. i.e we are gonna do complete dynamics study of geneva mechanism from it's sketch to simulation.
- THEORY:-Geneva mechanism is most commanly used for producing intermittent motion. It change the contineous rotatory motion to intermittent rotatory motion. It is characterized by period of motion and rest only in one direction.Mainly it is used in Milling machine for indexing, watches etc.
It contains one driver link and one driven link where the driver link is completely in circular shape link having a pin which rotates contineously and the driven link is also circular in shape having many numbers of slots, to transfering the moting arranments are made like pin of driver enter into the slot of driven one by one contineously as output we get the intermittent motion of driven.
Axis of both the links are fixed i.e the distance between the links are also fixed and at the time of rotation circular blanks of both links are in contact so definately it will have some contact force at the time of motion so here we are gonna analyze that contact force between driver and driven.
