Internal Geneva Mechanism
TITLE: - To create the 3D model of the internal Geneva mechanism.
OBJECTIVES: -
- Create 3D models for driver and driven wheels of Internal Geneva Mechanism.
- Assemble the parts of driver and driven.
- Motion Study.
- Ploting of graph.
THEORY :-
The Geneva Mechanism or Maltese cross is a mechanism that translates a continuous rotation movement into intermittent rotary motion. The rotating drive wheel is usually equipped with a pin that reaches into a slot located in the other wheel (driven wheel) that advances it by one step at a time.
3D Cad Model of Internal Geneva Mechanism:
In this 3D cad Drawing the driver and driven parts are drawn separately and then assemble to form the internal geneva mechanism.
We have taken the results of this by taking 10 rpm and 20 rpm motor speed at 60 and 120 frames per sec resp.
Below is the results of this Internal geneva mechanism.
RESULTS :-
- Contact Force with precision and 10 rpm
- Contact Force with without precision and 10 rpm
- Angular displacement of driven wheel with precision and 10 rpm
- Angular Displacement of driven wheel without precision at 10 rpm
- Angular velocity of driven wheel with 10rpm
For 20 rpm
- Contact Force with precision and 20 rpm
- Contact Force without precision and 20 rpm
- Angular displacement of driven wheel with precision and 20 rpm
- Angular displacement of driven wheel without precision and 20 rpm
- Angular velocity of driven wheel with 20rpm
