HOOD MESHING FOR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS USING ANSA
HOOD MESHING FOR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS USING ANSA
- The objective of this project is to perform meshing for a given hood model using ansa.the model is cleaned and checked for errors, then using the given element size is meshed accordingly.
- For meshing process ,the following steps are necessary
- Geometry checks
- assign pid for inner and outer hood
- Midsurface has to taken
- assign quality criteria
- meshing
OUTER HOOD MODEL
INNER HOOD MODEL
The separate pid set up has to make for inner hood and outer hood
1.Geometry checks
- Import the Hood model.igs file
- set the perimeter length and macros to 5mm under mesh module.
- give topo for the entire component and check usually for any abnormal faces.
- check the geometry for errors with check manager and correct the errors like triple cons, cracked faces, single cons.
- auto -fix the geometry.
2.ASSIGNING PIDS
3.Midsurface
- we can create mid surface using the offset option or the midsurface option. For now we can use the offset option.
4.Quality criteria
- we have to assign the given quality criteria for meshing the model.
5.Meshing
- The required element size for the whole geometry is 5mm.the option best mesh is used for meshing and after that reconstruct ,smooth split, swap option used to remove off elements.
