Hood design-Week 2
- From the given Hood outer panel created an new assembly for an hood inner panel.
- Using WAVE GEOMETRY LINK created the link copy from outer panel to inner as work surface & featured in a group.
- For creating Tooling Axis created a sketch and from the centre of the panel edges created a point and joined two point & created a line
Perpendicular to the base line which is the tooling axis.
- As per the master section given created the flanges in the Inner panel using the Offset surface offsetting the Working Surface by giving the values of 1.7,4 & 25mm.
- For each offseted workspace by using Offset in face tool created lines for Flange 1 20mm and trimed sheet reagrding that line for Flange 2
22 & 35mm created a line on line trimmed using Trim sheet tool & for Flange 3 its 50mm.
- The gap between the three Flanges filled by using the Through Curves tool and created the three Flanges.
- by giving the face blend on the edges of inner panel as per the master section radius values 6,6,10 & 15mm by using the Face blend tool by this tool joines each flanges & created the Hood Inner Panel.
- For the Stregthen purposes we need to create Emboss on the inner panel for that created a sketch on the inner panel and projected it on surface by using the Project Curve and using that curve to Emboss by using Emboss Tool whith respect to Tooling Dorection as Draw direction & draft should need to keep of minimum 7 deg which given about 10deg and we need to give the clearence for the Hemming process for the first emboss given 10mm as face and created emboss 1.
- For the second Emboss also created the sketch and maked projected on to the surface Embossed by using the Emboss tool by giving 8.5mm as offset and angle of 12mm with respect to Tooling Axis.
- We need to create cutouts for the emboss for the safety features for the pedestrians and collitions create a sketch and project to the surface by using project curve tool and by using the trim sheet tool trim the cutouts by using the project curve as borders.
- For creating the Emboss we already add component from assemblies such as Striker and HInge assembly for the measurement for rienforcement assembly gaps for the components.
- For creating the Hinge mount to assemble the hinge assembly on the flat surface create a sketch and project to the surfave and emboss but the surface needs to be flat so end cap need to select as the datim plane and we need to create a datum plane which is as much as near to the innner panel and and select it on emboss which gives the hinge mount surface to flat and give the edge blends.
- next is geometry the inner panel from associative copy select mirror geometry and mirror with repect to centre plane after sew those two which making gap on centre so by using Extent sheet tool extend the sheet and trim sheet with respect to thecentre axis and sew two components and tcken it by using thicken tool 0.75mm.
- make HOOD ASSEMbly active and give assembly constrains to hinge assembly such as touch align constrain to the hinge back face and hing mount area and give parallel constrain to the x axis and using move component tool make the perfect fit.
- by using the mirror Aseembly tool mirror the hinge assembly part and select as associates and save it on correct location to mirror the hinge assembly.
- for creating the Striker create the sketch for the assembly of the striker to move as opening and closing of the hood give the contraints such as touch constrains on the striker line and the bisecting line same constrain on the on the centre datum plane created on the both components align.
- For the Striker rienforcement creation use wave geometry link on the face option and selecting the back of striker and extend the sheet by extend sheet tool upto 5mm and give law extention on 12deg angle and by using sew tool combine the base and law extensioned one trim with the base by using the trim and extend tool and give the edge blends.
- For the Hemming process trim the outer panel with respect to centre axis and offset the surface to 2.65mm and make curve on surfaceupto 7mm &trim it by trim sheet tool which is the Lower part and give the offset on the curve about .1mm give law extension on that curve give the three face blend select the law extension as the middle face and created the hemming.
- For the easiness each of them featured grouped.
