Fender design-wheel arch challenge
Hi
Pls Find Attached a Part File of the wheel Arch Sketch.
Reports are available in the answer box.

OBJECTIVE OF REPORT
This report detailed a view at different points of clearance distance between the wheel and fender Wheel Arch gap according to European standards. And then decide which point is passed according to European standards.
DATA GIVEN IN CHALLENGE-

Use the Given Fender model in Challenge and calculate Arch wheel is correct on the basis of European standards or not.
ABOUT THE FENDER ARCH WHEEL
wheel Arch is the semi-circular part of the fender positioned above the wheel of the vehicle. The design of the wheel arch of the fender should be such that it must shield the wheels and protect both passenger’s compartment and pedestrians from the projection of water, mud and stones. The wheel arch area of the fender is usually designed as a cover or shield over the tyre along its perimeter to stop any debris or stones, dirt, sand, snow, etc, from getting thrown into the vehicle or the BIW area as well as outside the vehicle and onto other vehicles or pedestrians on the road. For the vehicle to have its permit in different countries, the wheel arch of the fenders must be compliant with the standards and regulations set by respective countries
European regulations require a pre-determined clearance or a minimum distance of 10mm to be maintained between the fender and respective tyre at particular points, along the tyre profile as shown below.

STEP USED FOR CALCULATING MODULUS SECTION
1-Download Fender from the challenge and sketch as per the above-shown image of European standard.
2-here have two x and y axes, which pass through the wheel Tyre centre.
3-As per European standards, we mark five different points and then check the distance from a particular point to point on Arch which is normal to a particular sketch point.
4- European regulations require a pre-determined clearance or a minimum distance of 10mm to be maintained between the fender and respective tyre at particular points.

MEASUREMENT OF DIFFERENT POINT LENGTHS FROM THE FENDER ARCH
Measuring of A point- At point A distance below 10 mm so this point is according to European standards.

Measuring of B point- At point B distance below 10 mm so this point is according to European standards.

Measuring of C point- At point C distance below 10 mm, but it is a negative value as per our requirement so this point is not according to European standards.

Measuring of D point- At point D distance is below 10 mm, but it is a negative value as per our requirement so this point is not according to European standards.

Measuring of E point- At point E distance below 10 mm, but it is a negative value as per our requirement so this point is not according to European standards.

CONCLUSION- As per European standard only A and B is perfect other points C, D and D is not under standard, so we need to modify our fender design according to the standard.
