Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
FENDER WHEEL REGULATION
A Process of measuring the distance from car front and rear wheel arches to the ground, in order to ensure that the car is riding at the optimum height . this helps to maximize perferomance and minimize wear on the cars suspension components. it also hepls to reduce drag and improve fuel efficency.
Fender regulations for cars vary depending on the country or region . in the US , most states require front and rear fenders on passenger cars and light trucks . generally , the fenders must completely cover the entire wheel and tire area and be securely attached to the vehicle .In some areas additional regulations may apply , such as having a certian amount of clearance between the fender and the tire.
EUROPEAN STANDARD
As per European Standard all the five L values should be greater than 10mm .
SE will form from 0dergee about 150mm length.
SD is the mid point angle for both SE and SC
L value for SA section

L = 5.282mm lesser than 10mm
L Value for SB Section
L =10mm is equal to the 10mm
L value for SC section

L=2.807mm lesser than 10mm
L value for SD section

L=0.928mm lesser than 10mm
L value for SE section

L=5.966mm is lesser than 10mm
All the L values are lesser than 10mm , so it will not statisfied the europen standard.
WHEEL GUARD REQURIMENT
a Value shall be more than 5mm at line 30degree and 50 degree rearward from the central vertical axis of wheel.
a Value at 30 degree

a=43.419mm is greater than the 5mm
a value for 50 degree
a = 38.473 mm is greater than 5mm.
a value is greater than the 5mm for 30 degree and 50 degree line , so it statisfied the wheel guard requriment of europen standard.
CONCLUSION
Wheel arc gap for the given design is not statisfied (fail) as per the European standard.
