Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
Wheel Arch Calculation
Objective: To calculate the wheel arch area and to check weather it will pass or not according to the European standards.

Introduction
The wheel arch is the semi-circular part positioned above the wheel of a vehicle. The most important body change was that the front wheel arch was cut higher into the fender. ... The car has big, high-definition headlights that extend to the wheel arch.
According to the European standards, the clearance L should not be less than 10mm and if it less than 10mm, then it would be considered under fail criteria.
Procedure to prove the European standards.
Step 1: A plane is considered at first at the outer edge of the wheel
Step 2: Sketch is created with refence to the plane created and a centre reference line is created.
Step 3: A vertical line 150mm above the centre line is created
Step 4. Fender outer surface curve is created using project curve operation, and the construction is done i.e one line left at an angle of 30 degree, one line right at an angle of 50 degree and one line with reference to the 150mm vertical line and the last bisector line is drawn between these two.
Step 5: Intersection points are created with the help of 5 lines and the fender outer edge.
Step 6: The last step is to measure the length L and accordingly decide the failure criteria.

Length L at section SA

The value of L at section SA is 10mm.
At section SB

The value of L is found to be 9.9489mm
At section SC

The value of L is found to be 0.1136mm
At section SD:

The value of L is found to be 2.878mm.
At section SE

The value of L is found to be 5.9755mm.
| Section |
Clearence L measured |
Clearence L required | RESULT |
| SA | 10mm | 10mm | PASS |
| SB | 9.9489mm | 10mm | FAIL |
| SC | 0.1136mm | 10mm | FAIL |
| SD | 2.878mm | 10mm | FAIL |
| SE | 5.9755mm | 10mm |
FAIL |
CONCLUSION
With this challenge, we concluded that the section SA will pass the criteria according to the European standards.
