Fender Design - Wheel Arch Challenge
We can check Wheel Arch Gap by performing the tasks as guided by the European Standard.
The European Regulation Guide

To check this on our given part:
- We need to create a datum plane on the outermost surface of the wheel and recreate this above picture with dimensions using sketch tools.
- We need to project the wheel arch from the part onto the surface and create intersection points with the lines drawn. We also need to project the outermost edge of the wheel as seen from the front side to measure the Wheel guard length which needs to be more that 5mm.
- Now points of intersection (between wheel arch and sketch lines) need to be projected onto the fender part. Then the desitance between point on sketch and projected point is calculated at every line and this is the clearance value thta needs to be greater than or atleast 10mm to pass Euro Regulations.
The following are the Clearance results for the given part

From above pictures we can see that ,except at the 30 degree line at all other lines the clearance value does not satisfy the regulation condition.(L>=10mm)
Hence the part does not qualify according to European Standards.------------------CONCLUSION.
We also find the Wheel guard length at the 30 and 50 degree lines

Both of them are >5mm. Hence wheel guard minimum length requirement is satisfied.
