Fender Design
Objective: To design a fender.
Introduction: Fender is the part of the car which covers and protects the wheels and keeps mud from splashing it. Fender is the American English term. In British English, fender is called as a wing.

Theory:
There are 5 mountings of a fender:
- A-pillar
- Sill
- Cowl
- Drip
- Baffle mounting.
A-Pillar mounting:
This mounting takes place between A-pillar and the fender.

Bumper mounting:
The mounting is done between fender and bumper.

Drip area:
This mounting is done between the fender and the engine compartment. While designing the drip area, a 150mm clearance from the front area is maintained for the headlights and a 200mm clearance from rear end for wiper motor( cowl top area) is maintained.

Sill Mounting:

Splash cover or baffle mounting:
A splash cover or baffle made out of rubber is fixed at this mounting area.

Conclusion: A fender is designed by following the method as shown above.
