INTRODUCTION

Fender is tthe Americn english term for the part of an automobile, motorcycle or other vehicle body that frames a wheel well. Its primary purpose is to prevent sand, mud, rocks, liquids, nd other road spray from being thrown into the air by rotating tire.

IMPORTANCE OF FENDER

Fenders are of great importance for good protection of the vessel from damage. The damage that can occur if you are not equipped with a sufficient number of fenders should motivate you to seriously deal with the purchase of this important equipment.

TYPES OF FENDERS

FULL BUMBER TYPE

The full bumber type is the traditional type of fender where more material consumption is observed. This type is used in thee old designs of automobiles where it increases the overall weight and thus reduces performance. The maintanence also relatively more due to more surface.

HALF BUMBER TYPE

Half bumber type is the modeern where less material consumption is observed, so productivity increases by reducing the size of the blank and thus providing more performance. The maintnence also relatively low compared to the full bumber type.

We are changed from full bumber type to reduce the scrap rate per blank. In the full bumper, we can only produce one fender per blank, whereas as a half bumper type we can produce 2 fenders per blank.

SILL

Sill is the under side portion of the door. M5 fasteners are used to fit the sill and the fender. So emboss and holes are provided in the sill mounting. Here is the design of sill mount. Emboss are given with holes for fitting.

SPLASH GUARD

Splash guards protect your vehicle from mud and dirt, resulting in less time spent at the car wash. They protect your vehicle. Splash guards prevent rocks and debris from scraping the point or metal on your vehicle while protecting vulnerable areas. They lesson the vehicle's splash radius.

A-PILLAR

Either one of two support posts are positioned on either side of the windshield of a vehicle and connect the roof to the body. It is als a structural part of a vehicle that extends from the roof to the floorbord and that connects the windsheild and front door to the body of the vehicle.

MOUNTING POINTS

Fender is going to fix on following locations.

DRIP MOUNT

Two main points to be remembered while designing the drip area.

  • A minimum gap of 200mm should be maintained from the rear end of the fender. This is because to have spacing for cowl mounting.
  • The second thing is to maintain a minimum gap of 150 mm front end of the fender for headlamp mountings.

It is considered to be important becuse it is mounted on the engine compartment.

SILL MOUNT

It is the front portion of the fender where the bumper is mounted with the help of brackets.

BUMPER MOUNT

It is the front portion of the fender where the bumper is mounted with the help of brackets.

SPLASH MOUNT

The splash area also plays a vitl role in anti-chipping. It protects the dust particles, spray particles from being entered inside the car. Thus splash plays a vital role in the fender.

A-PILLAR MOUNT

A pillar is a region where the A-pillar of the car is mounted from the front fender. It is located at the top right corner of the fender.

Thus the front fender design for the given master section using NX CAD is created.
