                                                    FENDER DESIGN

Introduction:

                     Fender is the part of an automobile (Vehicle Body) that frames the wheel well (fender underside).It is the primary purpose is to prevent sand,mud,rocks,liquids and other road spray from being thrown into the air by the rotating tire.

                     When Vehicle is moving,tires pick up stones and others and hurl them in all diirections .Fenders are basically present to prevent any injuries to pedestrains and contains the motion of these particles.Mostly in the passenger automobiles have four fenders onr over each wheel,for vehicles with a narrow car body that exposes the tire,the fender is an exposed curve over the top of the tire.The fenders has two types,they are

                 1.Full Bumper type:

                                  The Full bumper type fender was used in old cars,it covers the full area untill the front lighting.But it has a lot of sheet metal material which ic unnecessary and increases the weignt of the fender.these type fenders are no longer used in the automobiles.

                 2.Half Bumper Type:

                                    The Half bumper type fender was used by nowadays,It reduce the weight of the fender and it has the less material wastage.

Fender Design Mounting:

          There are five mounting points in the Fender,They are

                                                1.A pillar

                                                2.Sill 

                                                3.Cowl

                                                4.Drip

                                                5.Bumper
