Fender Design
Fender Design
Aim: To design the Fender from Class A surface and master section that is provided by using NX-CAD software.
Introduction
- The purpose of a fender is to prevent mud, gravel, and other road debris from flying off the tyres. It is a curved sheet that is attached over the tyre. A fender is, in essence, a wheel casing that contains road debris. The bumper, sill, and A pillar support the fender's mounting. Moreover, Fender has a place to put a baffle. Road debris may harm your automobile, but a fender also stops it from being hurled towards other vehicles or pedestrians, preventing damage.
- On occasion, we may add indicators and a rearview mirror to the fender.

1. Drip Area
The fender is placed within the engine bay via the Drip Area. There are some guidelines we must adhere to when designing the drip area, such as the requirement that the cowl (where the wiper motor is mounted) have a minimum 200 mm of clearance from the A pillar mounting area and that the drip mount's height not exceed 40 mm to prevent the spring-back effect and NVH.

5. Baffle mounting area
On the inside of the fender arch, above the tyre, baffle mounting or mudguards are clip-fit mountings. As the automobile is moving, it shields the engine compartment from damage and prevents pedestrians from being hurt by road debris. They are attached to the fender utilising a unique design of locking clips made of plastic.
