Aim :

Design fender by using given surface and dimensions

INTRODUCTION :

FENDER :

The main purpose of the fender is to prevent mund,sand,rocks,liquids and other road spray from being thrown into the air by the rotating tire

TYPES OF FENDER

• Presently we are using the half bumper type to reduce the usage of steel material and the uses of plastic material inaddition to the steel component due to this we can reduce the car weight and also cost reduction
• By choosing half bumber type the part will be small in size so we can reduce the scarp

PURPOSE OF THE FENDER

• CLEANLINESS :- Its protects the engine compartment and compomnets from the mud,liquid,rocks trown from the motion tyres

• SAFETY :- Protect pedistrain from the motion tyres 

• GENERNAL APPERANCE :- Its give more finised look for the vehicle

• A pillar mounting 
• Body mounting 
• Sill mounting
• Bumber mounting 
• Drip mounting

MASTER SECTION

DESIGN FOR DRIP AREA MOUNTING

• Drip area is the main important area of the fender which is connected with the engine compartment due to this lots of design constraints we want to meet 
• While design the drip area we want to leave 200-300mm to the cowl part
• For fixing the head lamp we have to leave atleast 150mm from the front
• Emboss are provided on the fender  to gets more stiffness
• Two darts are added on the drip area to avoid the vibration ans reduce the impact force by the external forces

DESIGN OF SILL MOUNTING AREA

Sill is the part just below the door area which supports the floor and help to combine floor and the body.The bottom end of the fender attached to the sill mounting due to this fender gets more reinforcement.The sill mounting area of fender designed with the holes,emboss and dart.M5 fasteners are used to fix the fender with sill area.

DESIGN OF BUMPER MOUNTING AREA

The bumper mounting area is used to attach the bumper and the fender with help of the fasteners

DESIGN OF A-PILLER MOUNTING AREA

A piller is the structual part wich connect the body and the roof . Front fenders are fastened to the A piller to form a rebust structure to the car.

DESIGN OF BAFFLE MOUNTING AREA 

BAffle mounting or mudguard are clip type of mounting on the inner side of the fender arch over the tyre. Its protects the car engine compartment and pedistrains from causing injuries from the chip out debris of the on the road while car is in running contition.They are mounted on the fender with special type of clips which made up of platic material  

CONCLUSION 

Thus , all mounting areas are designed from the given skin data and master section as per the design rules
