Fender Design

1. FENDER DESIGN & ITS MANUFACCTURING -

1. It is a side closing compoent for the engine compartment. Major role of fender is to avoid chiping inside the engine compartment.

2.During motion the wheel try to pick up some sand, mud and stone particles and through it inside the car and this fender will be helpful in preventing them hitting inside the car body.

3. Fender having plastic part and it is laying in wheel arc area.

4. It plays a major role to prevent injuries to pedistrials.

  • MANUFACTURING OF FENDER
  1. Process Planning: The purpose of automotive panel process planning is to identify the number of operations, the tasks in each operation, and the content of each task. This research proposes an automatic reasoning procedure based on expert experience and physical laws.
    Empty size calculation.
  2. Crop task: The crop task is divided into two parts.
  3. Constraint Task: The Constraint task is necessary when surfaces deform due to springback after drawing and trimming, or accuracy requirements are high because a surface overlaps another surface of another panel during assembly. Bumping is necessary to overcome the springing of the sheet.
  4. Punch Task: Each hole element requires a punch task. Hole features can be classified as basic holes, keyholes, and enlarged holes based on their different functions during assembly. The base hole is for panel placement and the lock hole is for locking the panels.
  5. Burring task: To remove sharp edges and harmful burrs from a part.

2. DRIP MOUNT-

It is a joing between the fender and the engine compartment and it has a lot of design constraints to be followed.

3. BAFFLE MOUNT-

It is present wheel arc area and there is plastic part is mounted.

 4. SILL MOUNT-

A sill mounting surface that is developed to combine floor and bodywork.

5. A PILLER MOUNT-

The supporting structure of the roof on both sides of the vehicle's windshield. In a typical sedan, additional pillars are located between the front and rear doors (B-pillar) and on either side of the rear window (C-pillar). There are 3 types of posts where this mounting surface connects to the post and body.
