FEATURE CREATION OF RIBS & SCREW BOSS

AIM

Creates a component from a given class A surface.

The tool axis should be created for the given class A surface to meet the draft angle requirements, and finally the draft analysis is performed on the model. Create ribs and screw bosses with consideration of design rules

Class A surfaces

In automotive design, a Class A surface is one of a group of efficient, high-quality free-form surfaces. It gives the aesthetics of the components created by the styling team and gives the part design engineer the ability to create parts with all engineering aspects.

We use design analysis technology to analyze that the part model created by CAD can be manufactured under the applied design conditions. At this point, the part can easily be removed from the platen tool (for sheet metal parts) or the mold (for plastic).

Part cannot be ejected from the tool if it has a straight 90 deg profile from the base. Individual areas of the part are given a small draft to facilitate easy removal of the part from the mold.

Here are the directions to extrude the component for easy removal of the component from the tool. In other words, it tells you that if the model has a draft angle and what the draft angle is from the tool direction.
