Creation of tooling axis

Tooling axis is created to determine the direction of the mold opening and closing . Draft around the different faces is provided along tooling axis.

Creating tooling line in X direction

Creating tooling line in Y direction

Creating Class B surface

• It is created from class A surface
• Surface from class A are extraced
• The same surface are untrimed
• These surface are extrapolated

Creating Class C surface

• Creating boundaries from Class A surafce
• Performing sweep operation at 3 deg along tooling axis
• connecting the swept part with trim.

Creating a final surface

By joining Class A b c surface a final surface is made.

Draft analysis

Draft is an angle provided on the face of a component with respect to tooling axis. providing draft analysis ensure easy removel of component from the cavity.

Results

• The green colour represent the angle of surface with respect to tooling axis.
• The blue colour represent the angle between 0 and 3
• The red colour represent the angle lesser than 0 deg
