Creation of Column Schedule and Drawing Template using AutoCad
Aim: To create the column schedule for the given figure:

Introduction: This drawing can be prepared by using different tools present in the AutoCAD like line, rectangle, text commands while specifying the desired length and the angle of the drawing which is given in the figure.
Procedure:
- Open the AutoCAD software.
- Type QNEW in the command line and then press Enter.
- Now type UN or Units in the command line and then press Enter.
- A diaoluge box appears on the screen. From that diaolouge box select type as "Architecture". In precision select 0'-0". Insertion scale as "Inches". Decimal in angle type and precision in zero "0". Press OK and then enter.
How to create the table:
- Create a rectangle by typing Rec or Rectangle in the command line and then press Enter.
- Create a rectangle of 60' X 20'.
- Now use the command "Explode" to explode the rectangle in single lines.
- Divide the rectangle 60' line into 10 columns and then again divide 10' line to 5 columns by sing offset command.
- Type O or offset in the command box and press Enter.
- Select the left side and give offset distance as 10' first and then again using the offset command give offset distance as 5'.
- Now create row at top and the bottom of 2' and 4' line respectively by using offset command.
- Type O or offset in the command box and press Enter.
- Select the top line and give offset distance as 2'. Again use the offset command select the bottom line and give offset distance as 4'.
- Now trim the all unwanted or unnecessary line by using trim command. Type Trim in the command line and then press Enter.

How to enter the text :
- We can enter the text in the table by using single line text from the text drop down menu.
- First of all specify the point of text from the drop down menu.
- And then specify the point of text.
- And specify the text height as 8" and the text angle as 0.
-Incase of the text "TERRACE TO MUMTY" give the text angle as 90 degree and then type the text.
- After entering the text, right click and select the properties - and then the list of properties will be displayed on the screen.
- Ensure that the text height should be 8" and justify as left.
- To change the style of text, type ST in the command box a dialouge box appears on the screen and from there select the text style. For this drawing we are using the text named as "romans.shx".
- Then insert the text that are just created and edit it into the required text in the respective rows and the columns.
- Now give the heading as Column Schedule.
How to draw the column sections:
(a) Drawing the column section C1 :
Given data from the table :
Columns of size 9" X 24". Having 20mm diameter reinforcement at 4 corners and 12mm diameter. 6 reinforcement bars connected with 8mm diameter stirrups.
- Firstly draw a rectangular using the rectangle tool.
- Type Rec or rectangle in the command line and then press Enter.
- Draw a rectangle of size 9" X 24". Specify a point click on the dimension in the command line or just type d in the command box. Then enter the length of the rectangle as 9" and width as 24".
