Creating a Residence Layout, Seating plan, Toilet and Utility room plan using AutoCad

Aim - Sketch the layout of a residence as shown in the Figure 1. Consider all dimensions as reference to sketch the unit plan. Also the text in the layout are only for reference. Assume the missing dimensions. Also, refer the schedule for size of the doors.

Commands Used - Line ,Circle ,Dimensions ,Text ,Fillet ,Trim ,Offset.

Procedure - Type units in command line and then select length type as engineering and precision as 0,00

Select line command from draw tool bar or start the line command by cliking the line button on the draw panel on the ribbon or by entering L and then pressing enter.

Draw lines by entering the distance gives by using direct distance entry system.

Terminate the command by pressing enter ,esc or spacebar .Press enter or spacebar to repeat the line command.'

Staircase details Trade 1, rise 6. Now trim the unwanted line from layout plan.

Now place doors at positions.

Give all the dimension and names to the layout plan.

Result is

Aim - Sketch the seating plan for an outdoor canopy. Assume the dimensions for the seating. Also, consider the dimensions in mm.

Commands Used - Circle ,Dimensions ,Text ,Block ,Trim.

Procedure - Type units in command line .Then select the length type as decimal ,precision as 0,00 and insertion scale as milimeters and press ok.

Select circle command and draw circle. Enter the circle command and with this option ,you first click where you want the center point of the circle to be ,then move the pointing device to establish the perimeter of the circle.

Go on view tab > Palettes > Design center >Home space planner >block > chair.

select required block and enter block. and then copy block to create outdoor seating canopy.

And the result is follows -

Aim - Sketch the part plan for the toilers and utilities room. Consider the outer wall thickness as 300mm and inner wall thickness as 150mm. Also, assume the missing dimension, Texts, dimensions, and hatches are only for references. Also, symbols for toilets and w/c are also for references.

Commands Used - Line ,Dimension ,Text ,Block ,Trim ,offset.

Procedure - Type units in command line .Then length type as decimal ,precision as 0,00 and inseertion scale as milimeter and the click ok.

Select line command and draw lines by direct distance entry method.

Line start the line command by clicking the line button on the draw panel on the ribbon bar or by entering L and then pressing enter .draw line segment by picking several random poins. Terminate the command by pressing enter ,esc or by pressing spacebar .Press enter or space bar to repeat the line command.

Now place opening . give all the dimensions to plan.

Go on view tab > Palettes > Design center >Home space planner >block > chair. Selct required block and enter the block.

and then copy block to create top of toilet and basin.
