Challenge

Creating a Residence Layout, Seating plan, Toilet and Utility room plan using AutoCad

Challenge 1

Aim :- Draw a residence plan which have two bedroom, two toilets, one dining and living with kitchen, parking and stairs. All dimesion is considered in feet and inches as per architectural view.

Procedure :-

  • Select a new sheet from toolbar.
  • Go to the properties option and select bylayer option and add layer select colour is black and name it as outer and inner wall
  • Following same procedure for window as green colour, text annotation as red colour , Dimesion lines as magenta colour and their text as 240 colour.
  • After setting up for layers then we'll go for units.
  • Type UN command then Drawing unit dialogue will open and select type as Architectural, precision as 0'-0 1/2" and Unit to scale inserted content is in Inches.
  • Close the unit dialogue box and type D command and Dimension style manager style will open.
  • Click on new give it name as architectural unit then modify dimension dialouge box will open.
  • First we have Line, in which select dimesion line colour as mangenta and extension line colour also magenta.
  • Extend beyond tick as 0" and Base line spacing as per requirement of drawing.
  • Extend beyond dim lines and offset from origin this will decide as per requirement of drawing.
  • Next option is Symbols and arrows in this select arrowheads as first and second as oblique.
  • And leader as closed filled.
  • The arrow size, break size, center mark and jog height factor as ISO standard.
  • Radius jog dimesion angle as 45 degree.
  • After symbols and arrows next option is Text.
  • In text option select text style as Calibri light and text colour is 240.
  • Text height as per requirement of drawing.
  • Next is text placement in which there two option vertical, horizontal both select as centered and view direction as left to right.
  • offset from dim line is set as per requirement and text alignment as aligned with dimesion line.
  • Then we have fit option in which all the option we'll go for as per ISO standard.
  • But use overall scale as per drawing.
  • After that Primary units is the main parameter for drawing, in which we have unit format we are select as architectural.
  • Precision as 0'01/2".
  • Then we have Alternate units and Tolerances which not going going to use in this drawing.
  • After setting up all the parameters we'll go for drawing making.
  • Select line command and use co-ordinate of (1,1) as a starting point.
  • Now draw a vertical line to the upward direction with length of 43'-6.5"unit and continuing to horizontaly to the rigth direction with length of 25' unit.
  • Then continuing it vertocally downward drection with length of 43'-6.5"unit. and close the command.
  • Type L for line command again and select the starting point draw horizontal line to the rigth direction with length of 12'-6" unit and close the command.
  • Now use offset command by typing off and give the offset to all the line which we have drawn now at distance of 9" unit.
  • Then again use the offset and by selecting internal left side wall line give an offset at distance of 11'-7.5" unit.
  • Same goes for rigth side internal wall but this time distance is 11'-6".
  • Now select horizontal internal wall line and give an offset of 12' unit.
  • Then by using these new offseted lines offset it at distance of 4'-6" unit and again giving an offset of 4.5" unit as thickness of wall.
  • And by using left side vertical internal line giving an offset at distance of 8'-3"unit ,4.5" unit as wall thickness and same goes for right side but the distance is 8'-1.5",4.5" unit as wall thickness.
  • After that by using new horizontal offset line give and offset at distance of 11' unit.
  • Last offset which given recently by using these line give an offset at distance of 9" and 4.5" as wall thickness. Now trim the unecessory lines.
  • After that use 12'-6"unit line for an offset at distance of 9" unit as wall thickness.
  • Then offset at distance of 3' unit, 6' unit and 6'-9" unit .The 3' unit offset line is for railing of stairs.
  • 6 unit offset unit line is for wall and 6'-9" unit is for wall thickness.
  • Select line command draw vertical lines of 6'-8" unit for kitchen wall
  • Trim the unecessory lines.
  • Now we have Bedroom 1 and 2 , toilet 1 and 2, Dining, Living and Kitchen. After creation of door which is D1.
  • Both side hinges are 1" horizontal and 3" vertical width of door is 3' unit.
  • Same goes for D2 and D3 but width are different 2'-6" unit for D2 and 3'-3" for D3.
  • Put D1 at bedroom 1 and 2 , D3 at both toilets and D3 at main door.
  • Now go for 6' window, give an offset for 1'3" from the door and agin give an offset 6' unit. Then draw a straight line taking center of those lines.
  • And give an offset half half inch after that erase the middle line then we'll get the glaze of window.
  • Draw a straight line which length of 6' unit.
  • By selecting this line give an offset 1' for 8 times and then select half stairs and from by convert it into dashed layer.
  • Giving smaller finishing touch if is there something is incomplete.
  • Then going for annotation use dimlinear for annotation and text for nomencleture.
  • Creatining three rows and and four columns .
  • Use text command for write name of doors and there dimensions.

Challenge 2

Aim:- Drawing seating plan of cancopy by assuming dimension.

Procedure :-

  • Select a new sheet from toolbar.
  • Setting up for layers then we'll go for units.
  • Type UN command then Drawing unit dialogue will open and select type as Decimal, precision as 0 and Unit to scale inserted content is in mm.
  • Close the unit dialogue box and type D command and Dimension style manager style will open.
  • Click on new give it name as decimal unit then modify dimension dialouge box will open.
  • First we have Line, in which select dimesion line colour as bylayer and extension line colour also bylayer.
  • Extend beyond tick as 0 and Base line spacing as per requirement of drawing.
  • Extend beyond dim lines and offset from origin this will decide as per requirement of drawing.
  • Next option is Symbols and arrows in this select arrowheads as first and second as closed filled.
  • And leader as closed filled.
  • The arrow size, break size, center mark and jog height factor as ISO standard.
  • Radius jog dimesion angle as 45 degree.
  • After symbols and arrows next option is Text.
  • In text option select text style as Calibri light and text colour is bylayer.
  • After that Primary units is the main parameter for drawing, in which we have unit format we are select as decimal.
  • Precision as 0.
  • Then we have Alternate units and Tolerances which not going going to use in this drawing.
  • After setting up all the parameters we'll go for drawing making.
  • Selecting a any point at plan as center of the circle first we draw the circle which radius of 452 unit and using same centre point draw another circle which radius is 1398.
  • Select ray command by typing ray and then select top quadrant of the internal circle.
  • Now randomly give an offset from these poin of 185 unit. And by taking ray line referance as center line of the chair.
  • After that draw a horizontal line which is 340 unit length and draw 150 unit length of vertical line at both point of the horizontal line.
  • Draw a line to join these vertical line now we have 3 points and we are going to use middle point as center of the circle.
  • Select circle command and draw the circle by using middle poin as circle unitl it attach both points.
  • Then erase the ray line and the line which is used to attached.
  • Now we have half circle and two corner edges.
  • Use fillet command at both edges with radius of 100 unit.
  • Then give an offset by using these half circle at distance of 20 unit. Then again give the offser of 40 unit by using new offset half circle.
  • Attach both circles by using line command and the 20 unit offset shows gap between them.
  • The vertical lines which we draw at begining by using give an offset of 20 units and then 40 units but the length of the is shorten by 20 units means it us 130 unit length vertically.
  • Join these vertical lines by using line command after that our 1st chair ready then we'll go for three more chairs.
  • For that we are going to use polar array.
  • By using that we'll get 3 chair more and our drawing is complete.

Challenge 3

Aim:- Sketching part plan of the toilers and utilities rooms, considering outer wall thickness as 300mm amd inner wall thickness as 150mm.

  • Base line spacing as per requirement of drawing.
  • Extend beyond dim lines and offset from origin this will decide as per requirement of drawing.
  • Next option is Symbols and arrows in this select arrowheads as first and second as closed filled. And leader as closed filled.
  • After that Primary units is the main parameter for drawing, in which we have unit format we are going to select as decimal.
  • Precision as 0.
  • Then we have Alternate units and Tolerances which not going going to use in this drawing.
  • After setting up all the parameters we'll go for drawing making.
  • Select line command and use co-ordinate of (1,1) as a starting point.
  • Draw a horizontal line of which length of 1900mm and from the same draw a vertical line which is 2100mm long.
  • Now use offset command and select horizontal line give an offset of 2100mm same goes for vertical line but distance is 1900mm.
  • After that we have a rectangle is formed we are going to name it as a Utility room.
  • Continue the offset now we have four sides, first select LHS vertical line give an offset of 300mm and then three sides are remaining give them offset at distance 150mm.
  • Same goes for D.H. Toilet but this time vertical distance is 1700mm and procedure is also same.
  • And in this room only one side offset is giving this time that is bottom side and upper side offset distance is also now it is 300mm.
  • Now we have two rooms is formed but offseted ouside room line are not line properly use line command to join them.
  • Extend the LHS bottom vertical line at an aprrox distance to represent that it is continue.
  • Same goe for D.H. Toilet upper wall line extend to the left side.
  • Now use line command and select D.H. Toilet RHS outer point and draw a vertical line at length of 351mm and continue the line command but now LHS horizontally at distance of 702mm and again vertically downward side 315mm and close the command.
  • Use offset command and give and offset newly drawn line at distance of 150mm to inside direction.
  • Trim the unwanted lines.
  • Then we have hole frame is ready.
  • First we'll go fo making ventilaters.
  • Give an offset from the wall at distance of 200mm this is line where vent is begin.
  • Give another offset at distance of 631mm.
  • Draw a centre line between these lines. And give an offset 10mm both side upward and downward then erase the middle line and again give an offset by using those lines at distance 15mm then our ventilator is ready.
  • Now we'll go for doors select any space to draw the doors first we go for hinges of door.
  • Draw a vertical line of 30mm, continue it horizontally 30mm , vertically 30mm then horizontally 100mm and last one vertical 60mm.
  • Then mirror it at distance of 828mm now we have both side hinges.
  • Select circle command and 2nd step of hinge as centre of circle and draw a circle until it touches the opposite side hinge 1st step.
  • After that select line command and select the 1st step of hinge as a starting point.
  • Draw a straight horizontal line two time and our door is also ready.
  • Same procedure goes for D.H. toilet door by distance is 832mm.
  • Trim the wall where it required and place it by using move command.
  • After that we'll go for window W9.
  • Select door horizontal wall line and give an offset at distance of 194mm and again give an offset at distance of 728mm because our window is 728mm long.
  • Now come outside of the plan select line command a horizontal line of 20mm and creat a box 40mm X 40mm box and select the center and draw a horizontal star
  • And mirror it at a distance of 608mm and draw a middle line.
  • Place the at its place and window is complete.
  • This we'll go for commord drawn an ellipse and half circle and one rectangle place its proper place.
  • Draw a three rectnagle and circle in middle of it for amking of sink.
  • Draw the straight line in middle attaching to the circle and our sink is ready.
