Conceptual design of a building with columns and shear walls
1)

a b c
a) due to placing of shear wall in both direction equally is good
restraint of floor shrinkage : good
the lateral stiffness : good
the torsional one with respect to the vertical axis : good
the vertical reinforcement required for the same total flexural capacity at the base: yes
the static eccentricity : it is good
the system’s redundancy : proving in y direction required
foundation systems : very good
architectural constraints : good in safety
b) due to placing of shear wall in both direction and same position is good
restraint of floor shrinkage : good
the lateral stiffness : good
the torsional one with respect to the vertical axis : good
the vertical reinforcement required for the same total flexural capacity at the base: yes
the static eccentricity : it is good
the system’s redundancy : proving in y direction required
foundation systems : very good
architectural constraints : good in safety
c) due to placing of shear wall in both direction unequvally is not good much
restraint of floor shrinkage : oocurs
the lateral stiffness : week in y direction
the torsional one with respect to the vertical axis : occurs
the vertical reinforcement required for the same total flexural capacity at the base: yes
the static eccentricity : not good
the system’s redundancy : proving in y direction required
foundation systems : good in foundation but placing shear walls is not good
architectural constraints : proving sharwall in y direction good
2) placing of colums shound the staright in both direction
but in this case it is not observed when loads are acted in x and y direction the structure may nor resist
so we need to provide shear wall at required areas
shaer wall should be at c5,c6,c8,c9, to beam b7,b9,b3,b4,b6
3) for this shear wall should be provied and all edges in both direction and all centre in between colums
if loads are appied the load is not distrubuted equaly beacause the colums are not in stright position
if loads are acted from x direction the loads transfer to y direction to to irregular placing of colums and direction
