Technical Surfacing of Kia Sportage
Aim – Concept Modelling of a KIA SPORTAGE CAR.
Objective – To model the Car and apply various surface manipulating techniques and achieve good quality surfaces.
We will make an entire model of KIA SPORTAGE, here we will be combining all the features and parts that we have made earlier viz. Front and Rear Bumper, Side Fender etc. we already know how to achieve good quality surfaces on these parts, so what we will do here is that we will apply all necessary steps and techniques that we learned earlier and then we will attach/align all the parts together so that we can have good continuity. For the beginning, we can start from anywhere but our process will be –
We will be following the above-decided modelling sequence, this is personal preference it can vary from person to person. As per the flow chart, we have already imported the images we have explained the steps described in the flow chart.
First, we have made the front bumper,
We have simply traced the guidelines, here are all the views for better understanding,
Next, we have to make the trimming curves, we can trim them now or we can trim it later
Now, we will apply surfaces, as we have made all the required sides we can use SQUARE.
Here at the middle Air intake, we have tilted the surface as per image.
Now we have, Side fender and or that we just need two curves, here we have used Layers and folders list of which will be given at the end, we have also used different colours to represent the different parts.
We have also trimmed here as well.
By following this strategy we have made entire volume, consider the image shown below,
After making these we have just connected the with middle surfaces, the complete model is shown below,

Conclusion - After performing this Challenge we have learnt how to manage more data and work with multiple layers and work in a single workspace. By suppressing and un suppressing the layers and working on different parts then combining all together.
