BENCHMARKING
OBJECTIVE:
- Benchmarking of a car for a customer who is fond of big cars and having 5 members, suggesting one suitable car for the customer after comparison.
What is benchmarking?
Benchmarking in automobile industry involves a structural comparison between similar products, services or process on some dimension of performance.
- Benchmarking is comes in predesign & development process of vehicle development process. Mainly 2 types of benchmarking comes, that is Benchmarking I and Benchmarking II.
- In Benchmarking I ,there is a rough comparison between competitors’ products such as price, features etc.
- In Benchmarking II, there is a part level analysis between the other competitor’s
In our case, we will benchmark a 4wheeler vehicle for Mr.pughazhyendhi, who is married man who lives in Bangalore which is highly crowded city. His family have 5 members including his wife,5 year boy, father and his mother. Once in a month he visits his native place Madhurai, which is 500km away from Bangalore .Also he will be using his car to go to his office. His budget is 8lacs to 10lacs on road.
The vehicles chosen for benchmarking are comes under the automatic transmission vehicles segment. Those vehicles are,
1)Maruti Suzuki fronx sigma 1.2L MT
2)Hyundai Aura SX plus petrol
3)Renaut Triber RXT EASY-R-AMT
1)Maruti Suzuki fronx sigma 1.2MT:

2) Hyundai Aura sx plus petrol:

3) Renault Triber RXT EASY-R-AMT :
Manufacturer:Renault group is a French multinational automobile manufacturer established in 1899 headquartered in Boulogne,France.

From benchmarking above 3 cars, Renault triber RXT-EASY-R-AMT is better compare to other 2 except the mileage, the fuel tank capacity is 40liters, as they are having 5 members including his wife, 5 year boy, father and his mother safety is the major thing,Renaut is having 4 stars in global NCAP rating, and Mr.Pughazhylendhii is fond of big cars ,it is having 7 persons seating capacity,3 No of seating rows and boot space is 625 liters.
