Benchmarking
Aim:-BENCHMARKING CHALLENGE
OBJECTIVE:Benchmarking study of the vehicles which falls under 8-10 lakhs and provide with the best fit for the person with all the consideration and features following the place, use and cost.
BENCHMARKING:
Benchmarking involves a structured comparison between similar products,
services or processes on some dimensions of performance. For example it can be
used to compare the availability and delivery of features in a product and in this
form often provides the basis of consumer tests and reviews. These look at
products and services and provide recommendations based on which is best or
some form of ranking amongst competitors.
It is particularly useful when comparing not only performance but also practice –
in other words what do the different organizations do to enable that
performance to be delivered? And applied in this way it is a powerful tool in
process innovation sin e studying how the ‘best’ achieve their performance can
provide powerful clues for changing the way processes operate. Process
benchmarking of this kind can operate at several levels:
• Between similar processes in the same factory or service branch
• Between different factories or service branches
• Between different competing organizations
• Between different sectors using the same process
Whilst if offers a significant learning opportunity benchmarking between
competing organizations is harder than the other three because competitors do
not want to disclose their process information since it is a source of competitive
advantage to tem. So benchmarking of this kind often involves a third party who
can collect the data, make the comparison and provide feedback but all on a
confidential basis.
STUDY REPORT
1)MARUTI SUZUKI CIAZ
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz you see here is the first model to get Maruti’s all-new in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine. It comes at a time when the future of the diesel engines is looking uncertain owing to the upcoming BS-VI emission norms. But as we know that the Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel was getting a little long in the tooth and would soon become obsolete. Whereas this new 1.5-litre DDiS is here to stay. While the 1.3 was the workhorse for Maruti, having powered millions of cars in the last decade, this new engine has a lot going for it as well. It is already being offered in the Ertiga and will make its way under the hood of the Vitara Brezza and S-Cross as well.
With the larger 1.5-litre displacement, the Ciaz now also comes up to the mark to its competitors, namely Honda City and Hyundai Verna. You can have this 1.5 diesel engine in three trim levels – Delta, Zeta and Alpha and it commands a price premium ranging between Rs 17,000 and Rs 47,000 (depending on the variant) over the older 1.3-litre engine. Nevertheless, to make things clear, this new 1.5-litre DDiS225 engine is not BS-VI compliant yet and doesn’t get Maruti’s SHVS mild-hybrid system either. And it can only be had with a manual transmission.

2)FORD ASPIRE
This is the latest iteration of the Ford Aspire. A much-needed refreshment has been brought in three years after this sub-compact sedan was first launched in India. The carmaker has made a host of cosmetic changes like a revised face, tweaked rear and an updated cabin. This comes along with mechanical upgrades in the form of a five-speed gearbox and two new petrol engines. The latter are from Ford's new Dragon engine family that was already seen on the new Ford Freestyle and the EcoSport. So, how effective are these changes? We find out.

3)HYUNDAI AURA

Alright lets face it, adding a boot to a hatchback isn’t the easiest thing to do for the designers, and that’s why, this segment hasn’t really seen very good looking cars. But then, Maruti with its new Dzire and Honda with the new Amaze have somewhat made decent looking compact sedans. In terms of design, the front of the Aura remains identical to the Grand i10 Nios which means the very cool looking boomerang DRL’s are retained and so is the new cascading premium satin finish front grille. In short this is a good looking front end.
As for sides, the Aura gets 15-inch diamond cut alloys with a really busy design and looks good. But where Hyundai have really played it smart is with the C-pillar because this is where things start to go wrong. Blacking out the C-pillar kind of covers up the design flaw to quite an extent. No it’s still not the best looking compact sedan but thanks to the smart styling it does not look too bad.
The rear section gets a lip spoiler that adds a sporty character to the Aura and 3-dimensional outer lens as Hyundai calls it gives the car a wide stance. This along with the snazzy design LED tail lamps gives the Aura a good looking rear. Overall, the Hyundai Aura is a smart looking car, but we still think Hyundai could have integrated the boot in a better way.

4)TATA TIGOR

Automatic transmission cars are becoming a popular choice among buyers in the entry-level segment. Once it was the forte of a much higher price bracket. But today, with growing traffic woes and a road system unable to cope with the demand, having someone else doing the shifting for you seems like a boon.
That’s where the Tata Tigor in this AMT (automated manual transmission) guise comes in. It’s a two pedal version of the Indian automaker’s entry-level compact sedan and was launched here in November 2017. You can have it either in the mid-level XTA trim or the top spec XZA which is what we have driven in the review.
SUGGESTION FOR THE VEHICLE FROM ALL THE STATS:CONCLUSION
In my personal opinion and study i will recommend the HYUNDAI AURA from the above listed options .
key benefits:
- The top model cost Rs 9.50lakhs.
- The comfort offered by the hyundai cars are very well renowed compared to there key competitors.
- As Mr Pughazhyendhii has a family of 5 members so space provided by the aura is amazing its value for money.
- The run for Mr Pughazhyendhii is not more than 1000km per month so the maintainence issue for the vehicle is resolved .
- The comparison of hyundai aura with other competitor is listed below:

- One of the most noteworthy accomplishment of hyundai vehicles is there interior design, which is far much better than the other competitors in same price range.
- The aura has automatic controllers on the steering which is of much facelities than other competitors listed above.
So does the AURA have what it takes to shake up the competition? Well for now it does, it’s got more features than the competition, it’s got the most performance thanks to the turbo variant and it’s the only car in its segment with a BS6 diesel. Also with a long list of variants along with multiple engine and gearbox options, there is an Aura for everyone.
The Hyundai Aura is available in three engine options. It gets the 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.2 litre diesel both which are available in the Nios as well. But the surprise package here is the 1-litre GDI petrol engine which has been borrowed from the Venue. Unfortunately, we did not driven the turbo variant. So the one here is 1.2 petrol with a 5-speed manual that produces 82 bhp and 114Nm of torque.
