1) According to the car requirements of Mr. D.S. Pughazhyendhii . The requirements are :- 5 seater, effective ride in crowded city , travel easily to his native place Madurai which is 500kms from banglore , easily commute to his office regularly , budget Rs 8 -10 lakhs on road .

presently the cars available for the Benchmarking are , maruti suzuki brezza , tata nexon , mahindra xuv 300

All these cars are 5 seaters , not too small as compare to other cars and big enough to be classified as a suv , as he is fond of big cars these cars are big as well as he could easliy commute to his office in the crowdy place as banglore. fuel tank capacities are sufficiently big for a drive up to 500kms.

for bechmarking the analysis and comparison is based on the requirements of this case.

• 5 seater :- for this the car needs to be big in size. load must be beared by the tyres and engine . tyre size , and pressure
• travel easily to his native place 500kms away :- the load and pressure to be withstand by the tyres should be high due to 5 people . The tyre must be wear resistant , for higher speed the tyre needs to be large , the engine should be powerful and fuel efficient . The fuel tank capacity should be high
• easily commute to his office in the crowdy place:- big cars have low moblity , the car needs to be in mid size suv segment.
• budget 8- 10 lakhs :- for this size of car the price would be higher due to production cost and more no. of materials used

2) Benchmarking :- It is a process of compairing and analysing the products for predesign, developement & manufacturing .

it is long task to develope a vehicle but knowing the details of the product to be manufactured through benchmarking significantly reduces time and cost.

Here we compare/ analyse the existing product (vehicle) of different companies , model, style ,meet the upcoming demands to be implemented

Every vehicle before being manufactured goes through a process of designing. Where a particular part , section , type , style , or body of car is analysed and compared on the basis of requirement for change along with new implementations . the parts are thus studied to infer which thing is essential for the change in vehicle through design imprint.

To develope a car without designing is hectic and time consuming whereas also it increases the production cost and provides less chance for proper analyse and comparison .
