  • Automatic transmissions.
  • Decent Boot space 350L.

Cons:

  • Lesser Space of Rear Seats

Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios

Pros:

  • very comfortable and spacious car
  • great looking hatchback
  • most-feature loaded cars in the respective segments

Cons:

  • just 2 stars in adult safety from GNCAP
  • engines are not performance-oriented and only does the job well
  • price of the Nios is not justified, even more so after the crash test results

Citroen C3

Pros:

  • Striking design! Very funky, yet likeable at the same time
  • Good-looking cabin that is practical too
  • 1.2L turbo-petrol is punchy, while the 1.2L naturally-aspirated engine offers excellent driveability.
  • Sorted suspension offers a very good ride & handling package
  • Compact size and light controls are perfect for the urban environment
  • 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay is excellent to use
  • Lots of customization options and accessories to make your car truly unique

Cons:

  • Missing plenty of features = electric ORVM adjustment, IRVM dimmer (not even manual), climate control, rear wiper & defogger, reversing camera, alloy wheels, tachometer!
  • Just 2 variants at launch (no true top variant)
  • No automatic transmission on offer - a big miss when ATs are rapidly gaining popularity in India
  • Quality of cabin materials doesn't feel great; cost-cutting is pretty evident in certain areas
  • Some ergonomic issues like the placement of rear power window switches, unusable rear headrests…
  • 1.2L NA petrol’s highway performance is mediocre; 5-speed MT is notchy too
  • Cabin width makes the interiors suitable for 4 adults, not 5
  • Long-term reliability & after-sales service quality are big unknowns; dealer network is tiny

Kia Sonet

pros:

  • A mini-Seltos in almost every way! Same formula, in a smaller package.
  • Sharp & handsome styling.
  • In our opinion, this is the best-looking Compact SUV•
  • Excellent spread of powertrains including a fast & enjoyable turbo-petrol•
  • Diesel AT is fantastic; the only smooth torque-converter gearbox in a sea of AMTs•
  • Well-tuned suspension offers a good balance between ride & handling. 205 mm GC too•
  • Top safety package includes 6 airbags, ESP, HSA, TPMS etc.•
  • Very enjoyable 7-speaker Bose sound system•

cons:

  • Rear seat legroom is just adequate, while its limited width makes the Sonet a 4-seater•
  • Top variants are pricey! More expensive than its sibling, the Hyundai Venue too• Some misses (60:40 rear seat split, auto wipers, steering reach adjustment, illuminated window buttons, full-size spare tyre on top trims…)•
  • Dual-clutch ATs (like the Petrol DCT) have a history of poor reliability in India•
  • As always with Kia, the variant spread is tough to figure out. Good luck finding your perfect Sonet!•
  • The tasty 1.0L turbo-petrol doesn’t come with a manual gearbox. Venue has that option•
  • Waiting periods are already a couple of months long for some trims

Honda Amaze

Pros:

  • An all-rounded compact sedan with well-priced petrol variants
  • Spacious & practical interiors
  • Diesel + CVT combination is unbeatable! Indisputably the segment best & smoothest
  • Suspension offers comfortable ride quality with neutral on-road behaviour
  • Features such as cruise control, paddle shifts (petrol AT), LED projector headlamps etc.
  • 3-year unlimited km warranty, extendable to 5-years / unlimited km and Honda's unique 10-year Any Time warranty

Cons:

  • Diesel + CVT combo no longer available in the mid "S" variant. Diesel CVT VX is expensive!
  • Diesel's NVH is just okay, it's not high-rpm friendly & carries a 2-lakh price premium!
  • Petrol CVT is fair within the city, but rather mediocre on the highway
  • Look closely and you'll find a few faults in part quality, fit and finish (uncool for a Honda)
  • Tall rear passengers will find headroom to be insufficient & the fixed headrests useless
  • The 175 mm tyres are too thin, while the 35-liter fuel tank is too small

Conclusion:

D.S. Pughazhyendhii has five years old boy and senior citizens, taking them considered TATA NEXON is suggested car.

  • It was the first car from an Indian brand to score five stars in Global NCAP's crash test. This makes it one of the safest sub-compact SUVs in the country. The SUV gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, and reverse parking sensors as standard while higher trims get electronic traction control, roll-over mitigation, hydraulic brake assist, hill-hold control, and reversing camera.
  • The Nexon offers one of the best ground clearances in its segment. With a clearance of 209 mm, the Nexon is capable of taking over challenging terrains with ease. So, if your regular route includes nasty speed-breakers or flooded roads then the Nexon will have you covered.
  • Tata Nexon isn't the most feature-rich SUV in the segment but does get a variety of novel features such as a fully digital instrument cluster, a seven-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, sunroof, iRA connectivity suite, automatic AC, cruise control, what3words navigation, Harman music system, and two driving modes. In addition to these, the Nexon also has automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers that make driving more convenient.
  • If you want a spirited engine that doesn't leave you wanting for power (in most cases) then you should definitely consider Tata Nexon. Its 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine churns out 118 bhp with 170 Nm. You can pair this powerplant with a six-speed manual gearbox or AMT unit for added convenience.
