Assignment 3
Simulation Report
- Without any of the recommended properties
- Input RAD and Engine RAD files were imported to Hypermesh using “Import Solver deck” option.
- Units for the simulation run were checked in the "Begin Card” and found to be exact.
- Simulation run time was changed from 60 ms to 55 ms in the “Engine Run” card.
- Time frequency was changed to 0.93 ms and 2.3 ms to obtain 25 and 60 animation files respectively.
- No properties of Shell elements were changed.
|
RUN 1 |
TIME=55 ms ANIM_DT=60 |
|
Hourglass Stabilization |
No Hourglass Stabilization |
|
Mass Error |
-10.3% |
- Mass Error of -10.3% was reported because of no Hourglass Stabilization.
- Graphs for all the mentioned properties were plotted.
- Result file is attached.

|
Ishell = 24 |
QEPH 4- nodded shell elements are the best in terms of cost and accuracy. |
|
Ismstr = 2 |
Full Geometric Non linearity’s (default) with possible small strain formulation activation in RADIOSS Engine. |
|
Ish3n = 2 |
Standard 3-nodded shell with modification for large rotation. |
|
