Assignment 1-2D Meshing Challenge

Aim: To perform 2D meshing on the given 3 models with given below QC

with target length 5mm, min 3.5mm max 7mm.

Objective:

• Clean the geometry.
• Extract midsurface.
• Clean midsurface geometry.
• Create 2D mesh with target length 5mm, min 3.5mm max 7mm.
• And assign proper thickness, by creating a generic property.

Procedure:

1. The models were having free edges and some T joints on the surface these were cleared with the help of Quick edit pannel

2.All these above edges were cleared using qick edit pannel

• Clean the geometry.
• Extract midsurface.
• Clean midsurface geometry.
• Ignore holes less than dia 5mm.
• Create 2D mesh with target length 5mm, min 3.5mm max 7mm.
• And assign proper thickness, by creating a generic property.

3. After geo clean up the mid was extracted from the geo mid surfaces option

4. Then after the extracted mid was Geo clean up was done in accordance such that it meets the quality parameter

5. Then After this meshing was done on the model with given target length

4. Then after meshing the mesh flow was corrected using the same Automesh 2D tab and Rebuild mesh

5. Then further the modified mesh was remained to be cleaned for qaulity parameters this was done through qaulity index and elem clean up tab

6. Then after this property was asigned to the elements,the deatailed representation can be seen below with all features properly captured,accept the holes below 5 mm dia

Conclusion: Hence meshed all 3 model with above required parameters
