Assignment 1-2D Meshing Challenge

Aim:

The aim is th extract the midsurface and generate the mesh and assign the thickness.

Objective:

Carry out the geometry cleanup operation on the given 3 files.

• Practice
• Clip Repair
• Mounting Bracket

There should not be any free edges, convert all of them into refine geometry.

• Clean the geometry.
• Extract midsurface.
• Clean midsurface geometry.
• Ignore holes less than dia 5mm.
• Create 2D mesh with target length 5mm, min 3.5mm max 7mm.
• And assign proper thickness, by creating a generic property.

Procedure:

Initially import the model into hyperworks radioss,

Then check the geometry and do the autocleanup,

Now take the midsurface and check and do the autocleanup,

Add the washersplit and toggle the lines needed,

change the criteria settings,

Now go to 2d and go to automesh and give 5 as target size and the mesh type as mixed,

Now generate the mesh and remesh if required,

After mesh generation check for the quality checkup and

Assign the thickness and save the model.

Therefore the given models hasbeen extracted the midsurface and meshed and the thickness hasbeen assigned, the model hasbeen attached to the asset.
