Assembly of Yacht
MODELING OF YACHT :-
AIM:-
To create modelling and photo realistic rendering of YACHT using solid works
OBJECTIVE:-
- To apply different tools of surfacing in SolidWorks.
- Do assembly and rendering using Solidworks.
INTRODUCTION:-
SolidWorks is a mechanical 3D CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Software used to create 2D & 3D models. It helps to design products better, faster, and more cost-effectively.
Yacht modelling completely depends on surface modelling. In this modelling the most important part to set up the Blueprint. Then as per the requirement of parts in blueprint do the process to get the desired part.
COMMON TOOLS USED IN YACHT MODELING
- PLANE:- Here the section view of the model is to be sketched
- SKETCH:- It gives the work base to create 2D & 3D sketches.
- SMART DIMENSION:- By using this easy to provide the dimension value to the sketch to get the desired shape.
- FILLET:- It provides round shape at corners edges.
- CHAMFER:- It provides sloping edges at corners.
- EXTRUDE SURFACE:- Used to get surface from the sketch.
- REVOLVE SURFACE:- Used to revolve the sketch with the reference of axis or lines in the surface form.
- SWEPT SURFACE:- It proved a surface by closed profile along an open and closed path.
- OFFSET SURFACE:- Used to get pre surface on another plane.
- KNIT SURFACE:- Used to provide appropriate tolerance.
- EXTEND SURFACE:- Used for extension of surface.
- FILLED SURFACE:- Used to fill the blank surface.
- CONVERT ENTITIES:- Using this easy to get sketched into the other plane or same plane with the same dimension value.
- OFFSET:- It Adds 3D sketches on faces.
- EXTRUDE BOSS/BASE:- used to get a solid body in one or two directions.
- REVOLVED BOSS/BASE:- Used to revolve the sketch with the reference of axis or lines in the solid form.
- EXTRUDE CUT:- Used to remove materials from the solid body.
- SWEPT BOSS/BASE:- It proved a solid body by closed profile along an open and closed path.
- PATTERN:- It features the object in a particular direction or path
- PROJECTED CURVE:- It combines two 2D Continuous curves into a 3D curve.
- TRIM:- It is used to cut the extra line of the surface.
- APPEARANCE:- Using this can get a different look & apply different materials.
- SHELL:- The shell tool hollows out a part.
- DECALS:- Using this tools painted stickers to be applied.
- VIEW (HEADS-UP):-
Following command comes under this:-
- Zoom to Fit
- Zoom to Area
- Previously view
- Section view
- View orientation
- Display style
- Hide Item
COMPONENTS OF YACHT:-
- Blueprint Setup
- Propeller
- Radar
- Hull
- Garage Door
- Rear Seat
- Front Seat
- Middle Seat
- Superstructure
- Radar Mast
- Final Assembly of Yacht
- Rendering using photo view 360 and solidworks visualise to get realistic view
BLUEPRINT SET UP:-
They are basically orthogonal drawings of the yacht in every direction (front, top, side and rear). They allow us to draw curves over a picture so that we can be precise and match the real shape of the yacht.
PROPELLER:-
A propeller is a rotating fan-like structure which is used to propel the ship by using the power generated and transmitted by the main engine of the ship.
RADAR:-
It helps in detecting other ships and land obstacles, to give bearing and distance for collision avoidance and navigation while on water. A marine radar device acts as a major navigation aid for boaters. It helps in detecting boats, birds, landmasses, and weather systems - even if the visibility is less than usual.
HULL:-
A hull is the watertight body of a ship or boat. The hull may open at the top (such as a dinghy), or it may be fully or partially covered with a deck. Atop the deck may be a deckhouse and other superstructures, such as a funnel, derrick, or mast. The line where the hull meets the water surface is called the waterline.
Garage Door:-
It provides safety from moisture ,bad weather.
Seat:-
a thing made or used for sitting on and an important part of superstructure.
Superstructure:-
the parts of a ship, other than masts and rigging, built above its hull and main deck.
Radar mast:-
it is capable of detecting and tracking small objects (e.g. divers' head) between the waves, contributing enormously to situational awareness in littoral environments. All systems are installed in the Mast .
assembly of yacht:-
in the assembly of yacht all the components of yacht are inserted one by one ,there are no much mates given in this assembly of the yacht all of them take their position automatically all developed them with the help of blue print only the propeller, radar, garage door are mated with various mates such as face coincident, concentric ,etc.
We should make sure that the top, bottom, right planes of the assembly and the other parts are coinciding with each other. Hence without any problem all the parts get assembled.
Assembly of yacht is the easiest part among all of them.
Rendering:-
Rendering is a SolidWorks add-in that produces photo-realistic renderings of SolidWorks models. The rendered image incorporates the appearances, lighting, scene, and decals included with the model.
Rendering can be done with help of photo view 360 & solidworks visualize.
