Assembly of Yacht
Predator Yacht
- Aim – The aim of the project is to design the predator yacht using solidworks, by creating part drawings, converting them to 3d model, assembling the parts to create a model and giving it a realistic view by rendering the model by photo view 360.
- Introduction – A yacht is a watercraft used for pleasure or sports. The term originates from Dutch word jacht (which means hunt), and originally referenced light, fast sailing vessels that the Dutch republic navy used to pursue pirates and other transgressors around and into the shallow water of low countries.
Today’s yachts are almost exclusively for leisure. A yacht is any sail or power vessel used for pleasure, cruising, or racing. The word often connotes luxury; however, luxury is not a quality necessary to meet the definition; nor is it always desirable. Many racing yachts are stripped out vessels with a minimum accommodation to lower weight.
- Parts and Explanation –
- Propeller - A propelleris a device with a rotating hub and radiating blades that are set at a pitch to form a helical spiral, that, when rotated, performs an action which is similar to Archimedes' screw. It transforms rotational power into linear thrust by acting upon a working fluid, such as water or air.
- Classification by Number of Blades Attached: - Propellerblades may vary from 3 blade propeller to 4 blade propeller and sometimes even 5 blade However, the most commonly used are 3 blades and 4 blade propellers. However, the most used are 4 blades and 5 blade propellers.
- Features Used – 2d sketch, revolve, loft circular pattern, cut extrude, fillet.
- Radar - Radaris a detection system that uses radio waves to determine the range, angle, or velocity of objects. It can be used to detect aircraft, ships, spacecraft, guided missiles, motor vehicles, weather formations, and A radar system consists of a transmitter producing electromagnetic waves in the radio or microwaves domain, a transmitting antenna, a receiving antenna (often the same antenna is used for transmitting and receiving) and a receiver and processor to determine properties of the object(s). Radio waves (pulsed or continuous) from the transmitter reflect off the object and return to the receiver, giving information about the object's location and speed.
- Features used – 2d sketch, boss extrude, cut extrude, fillet, split line, mirror, sketch pattern.
- Hull - A hullis the watertight body of a ship or boat. The hull may open at the top (such as a dinghy), or it may be fully or partially covered with a deck. Atop the deck may be a deckhouse and other superstructures, such as a funnel, derrick, or mast. The line where the hull meets the water surface is called the waterline.
- Types
- There are four common types of boat hulls.
- Flat-Bottomed Hulls. Boats with "flat-bottomed" hulls are very stable, great for fishing and other uses on calm, small bodies of water.
- Round-Bottomed Hulls. ...
- V-Shaped Hulls. ...
- Multi-Hulled.
- Features used – 2d sketch, boss extrude, cut extrude, fillet, chamfer, split line, projected curve, linear pattern, surface filled, surface trim, surface extrude, sweep, helix/spiral.
- Front Seat
- Features used – 2d sketch, cut extrude, cut extrude thin, fillet, mirror, surface knit, surface sweep, surface extrude, surface loft, surface fill, revolve.
- Middle Seat
- Features used – 2d sketch, boss extrude, fillet, chamfer, mirror, cut extrude.
- Rear Seat
- Features used – 2d sketch, surface extrude, surface trim, surface knit, ruled surface, surface sweep, sweep, boss extrude, cut extrude, surface loft, fillet, mirror.
- Garage Door
- Features used – 2d sketch, cut extrude, shell, fillet, mirror.
- Superstructure - As stated above, superstructureconsists of the parts of the ship or a boat, including sailboats, fishing boats, passenger ships, and submarines, that project above her main deck. This does not usually include its masts or any armament turrets.
- Features used – 2d sketch, surface extrude, surface trim, surface loft, surface sweep, surface knit, boss extrude, cut extrude, sweep, chamfer, fillet, mirror, split line.
- Radar Mast – Radar mast is a long pole or spar rising from the keel or deck of a ship and supporting the yards, booms, and rigging.
It works by sending out a radio signal. When the signal hits an object, it gets reflected back to the radar, which can then calculate a rough estimate of the object. It does so by detecting other ships and land obstacles, to give bearing and distance for collision avoidance and navigation while on water.
- Features used – 2d sketch, boss extrude, fillet, chamfer, dome, sweep, mirror, combine, revolve.
