MODELLING OF Sunseeker Predator Yacht

AIM

To design and assemble the Sunseeker Predator Yacht using different tools in solidworks.

OBJECTIVES

To build each and every part the yacht and assembled it in solidworks and to make yacht photorealistic using photoview 360.

Components of yacht

  • Propeller
  • Radar
  • Hull
  • Garage Door
  • Rear Seat
  • Front Seat
  • Middle Seat
  • Superstructure
  • Radar Mast

Procedure

Propeller

A propeller is a device with a rotating part which makes the blades to form a helical spiral and makes to move forward. It transforms rotational power into linear movement by fluid such as water, air etc.

Feature used

  • Spline
  • Revolve
  • Reference Geometry
  • Loft
  • Fillet
  • Extrude Cut
  • Circular Pattern

Radar

A radar device acts as a major navigation for the boat captain to sail in right direction. It helps to see the objects that are passing through, near objects and direction on which the boat should sail.

Feature used

  • Sketch
  • Extrude
  • Fillet
  • offset entities
  • Pattern/Mirror
  • Cut Extrude
  • Text
  • Split Line

Hull

A hull is the watertight body of a ship or boat. It is the one which protects cargo and others from structural damage and prevent water to enter inside. V shaped hull are mostly used for higher speeds.

Feature used

  • Blueprint setup
  • Sketch
  • Projected Curve
  • Surface Loft
  • Surface Trim
  • Surface Extrude
  • Surface Knit
  • Surface Fill
  • Shell
  • Fillet
  • Pattern Feature
  • Boss Extrude
  • Chamfer
  • Sweep
  • Split Body

Garage door

The garage door is used to close the space where the vehicles are placed.

Feature used

  • Sketch
  • Extrude Cut
  • Shell
  • Fillet
  • Mirror
  • Text

Seat

The seat is a piece of furniture which is used to take rest and make some

Feature used

  • Sketch
  • Surface Sweep
  • Surface Offset
  • Ruled surface
  • Surface Knit
  • Surface Extend
  • Surface trim
  • Surface Extrude
  • Surface Loft
  • Chamfer
  • Fillet
  • Sweep
  • Mirror
  • Revolve
  • Dome

Middle seat

Rear seat

Superstructure

A superstructure is a control part of the building in the ship where the operations and tasks take place. It is considered as the building of the ship where technical staffs work and visitors stay for a while. The name is given as it emerges from deck.

Feature used

  • Sketch
  • Surface Extrude
  • Surface Sweep
  • Surface Knit
  • Fillet
  • Ruled Surface
  • Surface Trim
  • Surface Loft
  • Surface Extend
  • Boss Extrude
  • Dome Feature
  • Sweep
  • Extrude Cut
  • Chamfer
  • Project Curve
  • Mirror

Radar Mast

Radar mast is used to detect other objects or moving ships and other land areas to prevent collision by sending radio signals at all directions.

Feature used

  • Sketch
  • Boss Extrude
  • Fillet
  • Revolve
  • Sweep
  • Project Curve
  • Chamfer
  • Mirror
  • Dome

Assembly of Yacht

Each and every part of the Yacht is successfully completed and the parts are assembled with each other to make it as a complete structure of yacht using solidworks assembly feature.

Rendering:

Rendering is used to provide the image of the yacht in different environmental conditions with different views. Here the rendering is carried out using photoview 360.

Conclusion

Thus, the modelling of the Sunseeker Predator Yacht is successfully completed using different tools in solidworks and the photorealistic view of the yacht is done by using photoview 360.
