TITLE - METAL BRACKET -2 USING NX CAD ADVANCED SHEET METAL

OBJECTIVE:

To design a METAL BRACKET using NX-CAD SHEETMETAL WORKBENCH.

INTRODUCTION:

In this project we are gonna design a METAL BRACKET with NX CAD on sheet metal workbench. NX is a advanced CAD (computer aided design), CAE (computer aided engineering), CAM (computer aided manufacturing). The software performs in DESIGN (parametric and direct solid/surface modelling), Engineering analysis (static, dynamic, electro-magnetic, thermal, using the finite element method and fluid, using the finite volume method. Manufacturing finished design by using included machining modules.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

DESCRIPTION:

1. SKETCH- Create a sketch for the base of the part.
2. CONTOUR FLANGE- Create contour flange with sketch as curve reference for the base part.
3. SKTECH & NORMAL CUTOUT- create sketches and cutouts of variours section of part to get the part shape. Below is step by step cutout using NORMAL CUTOUT with sketches as curve reference.
4. BREAK CORNER- Round all the sharp corners using BREAK corner feature.
5. UNBEND & NORMAL CUTOUT & REBEND- Unbend all the bends of the part and make it flat. create a sktech for normal cutout of a hole and rebend all the bends which are unbent.
6. BREAK CORNERS - Round all the sharp corners wherever need for perfect finish.
7. ADVANCED FLANGE- Create an flange along the edge curve with the advanced flange option.
8. UNBEND & SIMPLE HOLE- Unbend all the bends and create a simple hole on the part with reference sketch.
9. NORMAL CUTOUT- Create a sketch for a shape to cutout using NORMAL CUTOUT.
10. ADVANCED FLANGE- Create a advanced flange with reference to the sketch of the normal cutout and rebend all the bends which are unbent.
11. GUSSETS- Create gussets on the bends to give a strength to the bends by stiffening it.

From this METAL BRACKET-2 Project using NX-CAD SHEET METAL WORKBENCH and with the following tools, SKETCH, CONTOUR FLANGE, NORMAL CUTOUT, BREAK CORNER, UNBEND, REBEND, ADVANCED FLANGE, HOLE, GUSSET. We conclude the SHEET METAL BRACKET-2.
