Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_5_Odd Shaped Enclosure

TITLE - ODD SHAPED EXCLOSURE USING ADVANCED SHEET METAL IN NX CAD

OBJECTIVE:

To design a odd shaped enclosure sheet metal using NX CAD

INTRODUCTION:

In this project we are gonna design a sheet metal casing with NX CAD on sheet metal workbench. NX is a advanced CAD (computer aided design), CAE (computer aided engineering), CAM (computer aided manufacturing). The software performs in DESIGN (parametric and direct solid/surface modelling), Engineering analysis (static, dynamic, electro-magnetic, thermal, using the finite element method and fluid, using the finite volume method. Manufacturing finished design by using included machining modules.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

DESCRIPTION:

  1. SOLID - create a solid extrude by drawing a sketch.
  2. SHEET METAL FROM SOLID - wrap the soild into a sheet metal using the feature sheet metal from solid. It converts the solid into a sheet metal wrap.
  3. FLANGE & JOG - create flange on one side and a angled jog on the other side as specified.
  4. UNBEND - unbend all the edges to make a flat shape to work on some features.
  5. HOLES & BEADS - create holes on the surface and two beads on the sheet metal as specified.
  6. REBEND - rebend all the edges which are unbent earlier.
  7. FLAT PATTERN - create a flat pattern by selecting the face body and vector with specific preferences on the pattern

CONCLUSION:

From the NX CAD sheet metal work bench and from from the following features and tools like SKETCH, EXTRUDE, SHEET METAL FROM SOLID, FLANGE, JOG, UNBEND , BEAD, HOLE, REBEND, FLAT PATTERN etc. we conclude the ODD SHAPE ENCLOSURE.
