Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_6_Bracket

TITLE : BRACKET DESIGN USING NX

OBJECTIVE:

Write a detailed report on Sheet Metal Component with good explanation on Sheet Metal modelling tools applied throughout the modelling. Also attach the Final model Images (Min. 4 images) of Sheet Metal Bracket.

INTRODUCTION:

Sheet metal parts are widely used in machinery, enclosure, brackets, and automobile due to its various advantages. The parts are normally manufactured with break press. Sheet metal is nothing but the thin sheets made from metal of size ranging from 0.5 to 6mm. In this project I used NX CAD tool for designing the sheet metal bracket. NX CAD is used as design tool in more than 85% of the sheet metal industries.

Let us now see how to design the given bracket

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

LET US SEE DESIGNING THE SAME IN DETAIL :

Sketching-Making a 2d drawing such as curves, arcs, cirlces, points, rectangles and many options to create a drawing or to create features for upcoming designing.

Counter flange-It is created by extruding the sketch in a direction with thickness as required.

Normal cutout - It is used to create a cut portion where there is a requirement.

Break corner - This feature is for making the corner blend with some self dimensioned radius in order to make the corner smooth.

Unbend - It is to flatten the bend sheet metal to form a flat sheet. It helps in making a extra features like bead, normal cutout on the sheet metal after bending.

Bead - This is to create a contour shaped accordingly to their sketch in the required direction with required punch/die radius to enhance its strength.

Rebend - It is to make flat surface that is bend previously to do some extra features like holes, bead back to its original form.

Hole - It is to create a hole on sketch, or to create a counter bored, counter sink and several hole options to do.
