Objective

Design of Odd Shaped Enclosure in sheet metal, using NX Cad.

Introduction

Creating the of Odd Shaped Enclosure in sheet metal in NX CAD software with detailed procedure of tools used in manufacturing with detailed drawing.

Design methodology / approach

Part is created in sheet metal,

Preferences 3mm thick ,3mm Bend Radius and K factor of 0.33mm

1. Create the outer body in solid modelling.
2. And then convert to sheet metal from solid part.
3. Add flange on the left side.
4. Add jog on the other side.
5. Flatten the part.
6. Add the beads on the bottom side.
7. Add holes on the required place.
8. Un bend the part.

Description (Need to explain tools/ Features used while designing)

Following tools are used to create the above part features.

1. Cutting (Blank sheet)
2. Bend tool for bending the sheet.
3. Drilling tool for hole creation.
4. Punching tool for creating the bead on the parts.
