TITLE: Odd shaped enclosure
Objective: To design an odd shaped enclosure in NX sheet metal workbench.
Introduction:
sheet metal is a metal forming in industrial process in to thin, flat pieces. in this project we design a odd shaped enclosure using sheet metal command that is sheet metal from solid , here we create a solid body and extract sheet metal body from it using design methodology
Design Methodology:
Description:
- Sketch: sketch is a basic step of sheet metal, create a 2d sketch
- EXtrude: using this to extrude the 2d sketch a solid body is created
- sheet metal from soild: using this command we can create sheet metal body from solid body
- flange: flange is a secondary tab created on sheet metal body at the edge
- jog: a jog is created on the sheet metal body by sketching a curve on it
- unbend: this tool is used to flatten the sheet metal body to do further operations
- beads: using this tool bead is created to give strength to the sheet metal body
- holes: to create holes this tool is used
- rebend: to perform complex operations on sheet metal is flattend to get its original shape rebend tool is used
- flat pattern: this tool is used to flatten the sheet metal body
