Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_2_Box Assembly
TITLE OF THE PROJECT:-Advanced sheet metal design using NX CAD- Box assembly
OBJECTIVE:- TO design a Box assembly using NX CAD
INTRODUCTION:-
Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metal working, and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are fabricated from sheet metal. Thicknesses can vary significantly extremely thin sheets are considered foil, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate steel or structural steel
NX sheet metal design software incorporates material and process information in sheet metal-specific modeling features: bends, flanges, tabs, cutouts, beads, dimples, louvers, corner and edge treatments, patterns and other formable features. You can also quickly convert solid models to sheet metal components, and create sheet metal parts that enclose other components
DESIGN METHODOLOGY:-
The design methodology is explained through flowcharts as follows:-

DESCRIPTION:-
Sketch: It is a basic of a design
Tab: It is used to create base feature of the sheetmetal by extruding a sketch along a vector by a thickness value.
Normal cutout: Cuts material by projecting a sketch onto the model and then cutting perpendicular to the faces intersected by the projection
Flange: Adds a flat flange at an angle to a planar face and adds a bend between the two
Break corner: Rounds or chamfers a sharp corner of a tab or flange.
Unbend:Flatten a bend and the material adjacent to the bend
Dimple:Lifts an area of the model inside a sketch that simulates a stamping tool.
Bead:Lifts material along the contour of a sketch that simulates a stamping tool.
Rebend : Restores an unbend feature to its previous bent state, along with any features added after the unbend feature
Hem flange: modifies the model by folding the edge of the sheetmetal flange over itself for the purpose of safe handling
Mirror feature: Copies a feature and mirrors it across the plane

CONCLUSION
By doing this challenge, i have leraned about features like hem flange, mirror feature, unite, etc by designing the box assembly
