AIM
To create the yatch model using solidworks by surface tool options
OBJECTIVE
TO learn the differnt techniques of surfacing in solidworks. There are some differnts between using solid commands and surface commands some the commands are
*3D sketch
*projective curve
*loft command
*surface command
*surface offset
*surface thickening
*surface trim
*un trim
*extend surface
*boundry surface
INTRODUCTION
SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering. To create the 2d and 3d model by giving the proper inputs by users
*Geometric dimensions
*Plane need to draw
*Types of modeling etc..,
It is mostly based on the using surfacing commands
DESIGN PROCEDURE
All of these are mostly based on blueprints with the help of this we will model each parts using surface commands
MAJOR PARTS
*HULL
*SUPERSTRUCTURE
*RADAR
*RADAR MAST
*FRONT SEAT
*REAR SEAT
*MIDDLE SEAT
*PROPELLER
HULL
A hull is the watertight body of a ship or boat. The hull may open at the top (such as a dinghy), or it may be fully or partially covered with a deck. Atop the deck may be a deckhouse and other superstructures, such as a funnel, derrick, or mast. The line where the hull meets the water surface is called the waterline. It is the main and initial part and all parts to be attached over this
PARTS TO BE MOUNTED
*stairs
*superstructure
*propeller
*radar mast
*radar
*all the seats etc.,
COMMANDS USED
*3D sketch
*projective curve
*loft command
*surface command
*surface offset
*surface thickening
*surface trim
*un trim
*extend surface
*boundry surface
*shell
*split line
*cut extrude
*linear pattern
*mirror etc..,
DECALS must be used to given the perfect surface finish

SUPERSTRUCTURE
A superstructure is an upward extension of an existing structure above a baseline. This term is applied to various kinds of physical structures such as buildings, bridges, or ships having the degree of freedom zero (in the terms of theory of machines). The word "superstructure" is a combination of the Latin prefix, super (meaning above, in addition) with the Latin stem word, structure (meaning to buildor to heap up).
It is placed on the upper surface of the hull and total yatch is controlled over here
COMMANDS USED
*3D sketch
*projective curve
*loft command
*surface command
*surface offset
*surface thickening
*surface trim
*un trim
*extend surface
*boundry surface
*shell
*split line
*cut extrude
*linear pattern
*mirror etc..,

CAD MODEL
FRONT SEAT
It is placed over the hull in the front of the superstructure to comfort the passenger and cushions are given
COMMANDS
*solid extrude
*cut extrude
*dome
*surface loft
*mirror
*swept surface
*fillet
*chamfer
RENDERED MODEL
CAD MODEL
MIDDLE SEAT
It is placed behind the superstructure to provide the seating for multiple person. The table is placed in between seats. The cushions are placed for the comfort
COMMANDS USED
*boss extrude
*cut extrude
*fillet
*chamfer
*surface loft
*extend surface
*surface trim

CAD MODEL
REAR SEAT
It is placed over the surface of hull at the back of the middle seat.It gives spaces for the pasengers or peoples there for the good view of ocean
There is a gate over there to restrict them to get down and to provide safety
COMMANDS USED
*3D sketch
*projective curve
*loft command
*surface command
*surface offset
*surface thickening
*extend surface
*boundry surface
*split line
*cut extrude
*mirror
*sweep etc..,

PROPELLER
A propeller is a type of fan that transmits power by converting rotational motion into thrust. A pressure difference is produced between the forward and rear surfaces of the airfoil-shaped blades, and a fluid (such as air or water) is accelerated by the pressure difference.
COMMANDS
*Boss extrude
*revolve
*circular pattern
*fillets
*dome
RENDERED MODEL
CAD MODEL
RADAR MAST
Marine radars are X band or S band radars on ships, used to detect other ships and land obstacles, to provide bearing and distance for collision avoidance and navigation at sea. They are electronic navigation instruments that use a rotating antenna to sweep a narrow beam of microwaves around the water surface surrounding the ship to the horizon, detecting targets by microwaves reflected from them, displaying a picture of the ship's surroundings on a display screen. A Radar has a flat antenna that spins.
COMMANDS USED
*Projective curve
*Boss extrude
*revolve
*circular pattern
*fillets
*dome
*mirroretc..,

ASSEMBLY
Each and every parts that are modelled are assembled over the hull. Each and every parts are assembled automatically because all parts are modelled on the deck surface

CONCLUSION
Thus the yatch is modelled by the solidworks using surface modelling tools
