Calculation of wheel arc radius using Europian standards

There are some predefined standards for the successfull passing of wheel arc condition for the fender:

These requirements are proposed by the europian vehicle and road safety community to the minimum requirement of the wheel arc distance from the wheel for the passenger safety as well as crash requirement.

Requirements:

• Measure of CL L is done on sections SA,SB,SC,SD,SE.
• At all sections the value of CL L should be greater than 10mm.
• Wheel guard requirements-: The value of \'a\' shall be more than 5mm at a line 30* forward and 50* rearward from the central vertival axis of axis of wheel.

SKETCH AS PER EUROPIAN STANDARDS:

Measuring SA:

Value= 10mm.

Measuring SB:

Value=10mm.

Measuring SC:

Value=0mm.

Measuring SD:

Value: 5.0100mm.

Measuring SE:

Value=5.0100mm.

CONCLUSION:

• All sections do not have CL L value more than 10mm so the wheel arc radius did not satisfying the europian standards.
• Negative sign denotes the fender inside the wheel.

Fender styling team needs to recheck and modify the different sections as per the europian standards.
