Project

NX Sheet Metal Bracket

Objective:

To Design a sheet metal bracket using NX_CAD

Introduction:

Sheet metal is a metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. One of the most fundamental forms used in metalworking and can be cut and bent into a variety of different shapes. It can be seen used in designing automobiles, aircraft bodies, utensils, and beverage cans.

Design Methodology:

Sketch – Design Parameters – Contour Flange – Beads – Break Corners – Normal Cutout – unbend - Re bend – Hole

Methods:

Sketch: To sketch the sheet metal. Design parameters: Parameters added before sketching your required sheet metal. Normal cutout: To make a cutout through your sketched body. Breaking corners: To give smooth cuts on the edges. Beads: to create formed shaped with required parameters. Re-bend: to re-bend the unbend body. Contour Flange: after a required sketch is drawn a selected curve is selected to extrude the required flange. Hole: To give a required size or hole on a given body.
