Modelling and Simulation of a Supersonic Convergent – Divergent Nozzle

Objective: ABSTRACT Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a method which depends on various numerical analysis and algorithms for finding solutions and analyzing the complex problems that concern fluid flow and it is atributary of Fluid Mechanics. The objective of the current project is to determine the variation of flow parameters…

  1. JaymeisterVery interesting stuff! I'm an artist by trade. I kinda get shivers as soon as I see a sigma sign generally, so, using a program like SolidWorks to simulate something like this is intimidating! I'm curious; I got to wondering what kind of maximum air velocity could I achieve with a converging/diverging nozzle if it was fed by a super-duper-high-pressure electric compressor? If you've ever seen the aircraft manufactured by Otto Aviation (called the Celera 500), I wondered how it might perform if a substantial part of the fuselage - and maybe parts of the wings - were covered with such tiny nozzles. Kind of a huge coanda effect... I know, I know... it'd be quite an engineering challenge to design such "super-duper" compressors that were light enough, however, I suspect you might be able to build such machines using Carbon-Fiber Tesla Turbines :)... Thanks again for your work! I appreciate it! J.
