INTERNAL GENEVA MECHANISM
Introduction:
An internal Geneva drive is a variant on the design. The axis of the drive wheel of the internal drive can have a bearing only on one side. The angle by which the drive wheel has to rotate to effect one step rotation of the driven wheel is always smaller than 180° in an external Geneva drive and always greater than 180° in an internal one, where the switch time is therefore greater than the time the driven wheel stands still.
Aim:
conduct the motion analysis on the internal geneva mechaism designed and obtain the graphs between the angualr dispalcement of driver and contact forces between the driver and the driven wheel with respect to time.
Parameters need to consider:
under precise contact
if the RPM is 10 the frame per second need to be 60.
if the RPM is 20 the frame per second need to be 120.
2-D CAD model
3-D models
Driven
Driver
Assembly
Results of motion analysis:
Note: taken rpm as 20 and frames per secon is 120
with preciese contact
without precies contact:
comparing of the results:
from the above graphs ,that the results in the both the graphs were same but the detail of the results were clear in the preciese contact graphs and unclear in the remaining two graphs.
