Exhaust Port
1) The CHT analysis is genrally used in places where there is heat transfer taking place for example when a fluid flows through a pipe and the heat of the fluid is transfered to the pipe by convection. A CHT analysis is very much useful in analysing the areas where there are two bodies in which heat transfer takes place. When this analysis is used it is easy to calculate the heat transfer coefficient temperature and velocity of a fluid flowing through a certain body.
2) CHT analysis Baseline mesh:
Temperature
Streamline velocity
Velocity at plane
Heat transfer Coefficient
CHT analysis Finer Mesh:
Temperature
Streamline velocity
Velocity at plane
Heat transfer Coefficient
From the above comparison it is noted that the CHT analysis in both the meshing cases are the same and hence the finer mesh setup proves that the baseline mesh setup is showing the proper result. But in the heat transfer coefficient at the plane seems to be more smoother when the finer mesh is created using a inflation layer on the inlets and with a smaller element size which concludes that using a finer mesh solves more accurately and the convergence point is attained a longer period of time.
3) The HTC in the analysis is predicted by adding a plane across the outelt area where more amount oh heat is transfered the pipe it can be assumed that the predictions of HTC are accurate only when a smoother heat transfer coefficient results are obtained in the CFD post analysis if the results are coarser it means the meshes are to be fined and the results must be obtained. The accuracy factor depends upon the element size the total number of cells and meshing quality by adding inflation layers with which the HTC is obtained.
