Modeling of 3D Chopper Parts (Oil Tank, Chain, Pedal)

Oil Tank:

Step 1 – Create a 2D sketch based on the cross section of the lower surface of the oil tank using line and arc entities.

Step 2 – Check the relations between the entities and origin and make sure they are dimensionally correct.

Step 3 – Create an extrude of 2D sketch by using extrude feature.

Step 4 – Create a 2D sketch on the mid plane of the extruded part by using line and spline entities. Also check the relations between the entities and make sure they are dimensionally correct.

Step 5 - Create an extrude of mid plane 2D sketch by using extrude feature. Then combine the common part of both the extruded parts using combine feature.

Step 6 – Use fillet tool to give smooth finish to the edges of Oiltank.

Step 7 – Use the shell feature to create a shell inside oiltank.

Step 8 – Now specify the appearance of the oiltank ( Ciena) by using appearance tab.

Chain:

Step 1 – Create a 2D sketch based on the vertical cross section of the chain using line, circle and arc entities which will be the path in which the chain plates are going to arrange.

Step 2 - Check the relations between the entities and origin and make sure they are dimensionally correct.

Step 3 – Draw a 2D sketch of the upper and lower chain plates, make them fully defined and save them separately as a blocks.

Step 4 – Insert the blocks (upper and lower plates)on the path we created earlier.

Step 5 – Extrude the plates and pin by using extrude feature.

Step 6 – Use fillet tool to give smooth finish to the edges of the pins.

Step 7 – Use the curve driven pattern feature to create a pattern of upper and lower plates on the curved path. (we will select each path separately if we select the whole path together the pins will misalign at the turning point of the curve.)

Step 8 – We will make the solid body manually where there is a misalignment.

Step 9 – Now we make a separate folders for pins and plates so that we can easily apply appearance or edit the solid body separately without any inconvenience.

Step 10 – Now specify the appearance of the chain ( Chromium Plate ) by using appearance tab.

Pedal:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1isTimrCc5kqjEGdhVWN6l9KVUmEk68iZ

Step 1 - Create a 2D sketch based on the cross section of Pedal using line, arc, circle and spline entities.

Step 2 - Check the relations between the entities and origin and make sure they are dimensionally correct.

Step 3 – Create an extrude of 2D sketch using extrude feature (Body and shifters)

Step 4 – Use fillet tool to give smooth finish to the edges of the solid body.

Step 5 – Now again create an another 2D sketch for the foot pad.

Step 6 – Revolve the 2D sketch by using the revolve feature.

Step 7 – Create a dome at the end of the foot pack using dome feature.

Step 8 – We use the champer tool to make the end of the shifters pointed.

Step 9 – Now we create a 2D sketch on front face using circle entity.

Step 10 – Offset the sketch using offset entity and extrude it.

Step 11 – Use the linear pattern on the extuded part.

Step 12 – Use fillet tool to give smooth finish to the edges of the pedal.

Step 13 - Now specify the appearance of the front fender (Chromium Plate ) by using appearance tab.
