American chopper
Objective :
- This project is about modeling the chopper using solidworks
- Modeling several parts of the chopper and making the assembly for the same
- Creating a photorealistic model of the chopper ad render the model using solidworks visualize
Parts to be modeled for american chopper :
- Transmission belt
- Kick stand
- Front fender
- Rear fender
- Oil tank
- Chain
- Pedal
- Front wheel
- Rear wheel
- Front fork
- Chassis
- Engine
- Gas tank
Features used :
- 2D and 3D sketch : Sketches are to be drawn using available planes or in any dimension using sketch tool
- Extrude : Helps to convert a 2D sketch to solid 3D model
- Extrude cut : Helps to remove features in 3D model
- Revolve : Used for producing revolved parts using centre line as axis
- Projected curve : Helps to create 3D curves using two 2D curves
- Pattern : Linear/Circular pattern helps to duplicate required number of features produced in required path
- Trim : Helps to delete the sketch or features that are needed to be
- Shell : To create thick/thin inside wall with hollow space for the solid body
- Dome : Helps to make the centroid of the face/faces project
- Combine : To manually combine two or more solid bodies
- Mirror : Helps to produce a reflected feature/face/bodies that are to be mirrored
- Fillet/Chamfer : Helps to change the sharp edges to smooth surfaces and inclined faces
- Mate : For assembly of the parts several different mates such as coincidence, concentric are useful
Some parts and assembly :
Frontfork :
Rearwheel :
Engine :
Assembly :
Rendering :
- In this process photorealistic model was created
- Solidworks visualize helps to perform rendering with applied environment feaures and views
Conclusion :
- Parts of the chopper were modeled using solidworks software
- Assmebly of the parts made to model the american chopper
- Photorealistic model was rendered using solidworks visualize software
