Introduction

A 2019 passed out Engineering professional from PSG College of Technology with Masters in Computer Integrated Manufacturing, with special interest in design and product lifecycle management. Currently pursuing, Design Masters at SKILL LYNC. I'm trained in softwares like CATIA, Solidworks, NX CAD 11.0 and Creo (Solidmodeling). I have a good skill set in the above softwares. During my course i have done projects in automotive parts like, inner hood, front fender, roof, back door, Applying GD&T to parts and assemblies, optimization of inner hood, analysis of wheel arc, etc. I have done 12 projects out of which 8 projects are in design. Completed a course in Solidworks, Automotive Sheet Metal Design of Body in White (BIW) using CATIA V5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Currently pursuing Plastic Design for Automotive Applications using CATIA V5. Looking for opportunities...

Designing and Modeling the Front Fender of a car using CATIA V5

Objective:

Introduction In British English, the fender is called the wing, this may refer to either the front or rear fenders. However, in modern uni-body vehicles, rear fenders may also be called quarter panels. In modern Indian and Sri Lankan English usage, the fender is called a mudguard. Fender is the part of an automobile,…

Designing and Modeling the roof of a car using CATIA V5

    Objective:

Introduction Roof of an automobile sits above the passenger compartment. Roof houses the vehicle as a shielding part, which safeguards the occupants from sunlight, heat, rain, wind, dust and other external elements. In case of convertibles, it is called the hood. In the past roof was introduced as cover for passenger compartment…

Designing the inner panel of an automotive Back Door using CATIA V5

      Objective:

Introduction Back door is the rear most part of a car. It gives access to the rear storage compartment of the vehicle. It has to be strong enough to sustain the rear crash. Back doors are made from steel/aluminum panels that swings (moves up or down during loading and unloading) with the help of a hinge mechanism. Back…

Analysis of wheel arc for Fender design.

              Objective:

Introduction                 When viewed from the top side of the vehicle, the tire should not protrude outside the fender. Because if it protruding outside would lead to more chipping while driving and have to compromise in pedestrian safety. Therefore,…

Optimization of section modulus of the front hood of a car.

                Objective:

Material of the hood: Stainless steel AISI 302- cold-rolled, Y = 520 Mpa Section Modulus: Section modulus is an important factor for beam and flexural member design. Higher the section modulus, higher will be the resistance to bending. It is easier to calculate stresses in beam and an exact measure of strength of steel.…
