their are some steps that we follow to define a female connector in which connector clip feature provided.

In part design

Step-1 Create a point in both side(connector mating side & bundle entry side)

Step-2 Create an axis in those side (connector mating side & connector cavity side)

During create an axis at any face of the connector (X- to locking direction, Y- to mating side, Z- to left to right direction)

In electrical part design-

Step 3- Define termination

Step-4 Define connector connection point

Step-5 Define bundle entry point

Step-6 Define cavity connection point
