Week 9 - Project - A pillar Design with Master Section
Aim : To create A pillar component using the master section.
Given Data and A surface

- Master section : master sections are the guides for design requirements which decide the component packaging after technical ( styling, Class - A ) surfaces. In simple language they provide a 2D line diagram of the part so that we can have a ease of understanding on parts design.

- Tooling Axis : It is defined as the direction in which mould & cavity open. Selection of direction of the tooling axis depends on the ease at which components can be easily ejected.

- Draft analysis : Draft is the amount of taper for moulded parts perpendicular to the parting line. Draft angles are design consideration that makes it much easier for a part to release cleanly from a mould.

- B surface creation : B surface is the inner surface of the part. it is obtained by offsetting the A surface to the given amount of thickness.

- C surface : C surface is the closure between A & B surface. it is the thickness of the component.

- Closed Surface : Closed surface body is obtained by trimming all the three surfaces together.

- Dog house creation : As given in the master section the lines are extracted from it and extruded to for surface for dog house. along whith that shifter axis is screated by extracting the lines from master section. then all the surfaces are trimmed to form a shape of a dog house.

- Internal ribs in dog house : ribs are created by extruding and thickenning them to the give dimensions.

- Final Component

- Draft analysis report of the A pillar is created in a PPT and it is Attached below.
