Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features

AIM:To design a Door applique with engineering feature those are like heat stakes and 2 way & 4way locators in a given styling surface.

PROCEDURE:(i)Firstly we have to impose a tooling axis in the given surface which will clear the Draft analysis of the model before to it should not be having any boundary issues in it.

(ii)After getting the tooling axis on the classA surface we create the classB surface and the ClassC surface using Sweep and blend and muti-section surface or else we can thicken the surface to the given thickness.

(iii)Then we have got to take the edge line of either sides and then using parallel curve we can get the line to which we can get multiple points to which we plot the locators and the Heat stakes.

(iv)Sketch shown below for the locators and the heat stakes shown below:

After creating them we have to provide the Draft angle and edge fillets respectively along with the tooling direction then we have to unitrim them with the lower surface and we have got to provide tolerance of hole in the above surface creating at one position can be translated to the all respective points using copy and paste via links. The completed model are being look like below the image:
