Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2
Aim:
Create the Dog House for the Door Trim considering the design rules and perform the draft analysis for class A and create the final close body component and perform the draft analysis.
OBJECTIVE:
To create DOOR TRIM LOWER using given class A
To create tooling axis
To create dog house
To perform draft analysis
Consider the thickness of the part to be 2.5 mm.
CLASS A SURFACE:

The above image represents the class A surface given as input.
GENERATING TOOLING AXIS:
- The flat face from the given class A surface is identified and extracted.
- A point is plated using point option and on surface method.
- A line is created by using line command normal to surface plane. Thus TOOLING AXIS is created.

SIDE CORE AXIS:
- The side core axis is created using point and direction method with initial point used for tooling axis and using the x axis for this component as direction.
CLASS B:
- The given surface is offset for the given thickness of 3mm.
- Few open patches are found in the class B surface.
- These patches are closed by creating a boundary and exploited tangential or curvature to the surface for the suitable surfaces.
- Then they are trimmed.
- Fillet values are measured and applied. CLASS B surface is created.

CLASS C
- The class C surfaces are created part by part up to required distance.
- The edges are selected and boundary is created.
- The outer edges are swept using boundary reference surface.
- The cut out portions are created using tooling axis method using tooling axis

FINAL SURFACE:
- The class A and class C surfaces are joined together.
- The joined surface is trimmed with class B surface and Final surface is created.
CLOSED SURFACE CREATION:
- By going to part design and using closed surface option. The Thickened component is created.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:
